]]> You know baseball season is getting good when Boston Red Sox fans are starting fights during games against the New York Yankees. In the Red Sox fans fight video that can be seen at the end of this entry, you get to see the ugly side of the fight.

On the field, the Red Sox are starting to make the Yankees doubt themselves. The Red Sox currently lead the Yankees by six games and show no sign of letting up. Weirdly enough, both teams actually trail the surprising Tampa Bay Rays.

]]> Jonathan Papelbon has appeared in less than 150 games as a relief pitcher but he has quickly become one of the best closers in the game of baseball. When Papelbon takes the mound, he oftentimes makes opposing hitters look hopeless.

However, for the second straight game, the right-hander out of Mississippi State has blown a save for the Boston Red Sox. The two blown saves were his first blown saves of the season. Last year, Papelbon had 37 saves and only three blown saves to go with a 1.85 ERA.

His first blown save was Wednesday against the Detroit Tigers. Papelbon gave up two unearned runs as the Tigers beat the Red Sox by a final score of 10-9. On Friday, the Minnesota Twins tagged Papelbon for two earned runs in the bottom of the ninth.

On the season, Papelbon now has a 2.55 ERA to go with ten saves and a 2-2 record. While Papelbon is currently struggling a bit, it’s not time for Red Sox fans to struggle. He’ll turn it around and won’t have more than a handful of blown saves the rest of the way.
