Apropos of nothing, here are nine of my favorite ballparks to visit:
Petco Park: San Diego, Calif. So much more conducive to baseball than Qualcomm Stadium was. Love me a park next to the water.
The Diamond: Lake Elsinore, Calif. Some of my fondest baseball memories call this place home.
Tony Gwynn Stadium: San Diego. There are more beautiful ballparks, but I love this one anyway.
The Epicenter: Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. Another great Cal League park. Surrounded by softball fields; usually there are multiple games being played.

Congratulations to the #5 ranked University of San Diego Toreros (full disclosure: my alma mater) for winning the WCC championship and being chosen as a host for the NCAA regionals. This marks the first time a regional will be hosted here in San Diego.
Big thanks also to San Diego State University for allowing USD to use Tony Gwynn Stadium for the event. Nice to see the two schools coming together to do the right thing for the city.
Other teams in the San Diego regional will be announced on ESPN at 9:30 a.m. PT on Monday. Stay tuned…
