Eric Bruntlett Turns Unassisted Triple Play

Eric Bruntlett found a unique way to end Sunday’s contest between the Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Mets. With runners on first and second, Bruntlett caught a liner, stepped on second and tagged out the runner to turn an unassisted triple play. It was only the second time in baseball history that an unassisted triple play ended a ballgame.

Indians Asdrubal Cabrera Unassisted Triple Play

Asdrubal Cabrera pulled off an unassisted triple play Monday night in a game against the Toronto Blue Jays. Check the video at the end of this entry to see the video of the unassisted triple play by Cabrera.
Lyle Overbay hit a liner for Toronto but Cabrera made a diving catch. Cabrera stood up, stepped on second base and then tagged out Marco Scutaro. The unassisted triple play was the 14th in the history of the major leagues.
