Tony La Russa Sues Twitter

Twitter has been in the news a lot recently. The microblogging phenomenon apparently isn’t appreciated by Tony La Russa, the manager of the St. Louis Cardinals.
Multiple reports indicate that La Russa filed a lawsuit against Twitter in May. The lawsuit, which was filed in San Francisco, asks for unspecified damages due to emotional distress and damage to his reputation.
This whole issue seems to have arisen after someone registered the Twitter.com/TonyLaRussa page and posted comments that the lawsuit claims were demeaning and derogatory. La Russa’s suit contends that the page was unauthorized and infringed on his trademark rights.

Carlos Zambrano Video – Epic Meltdown

Disputing a play at the plate, Carlos Zambrano had a meltdown of epic proportions. The Chicago Cubs pitcher nicknamed Big Z got a Big Heave Ho. You can watch the Carlos Zambrano epic meltdown video at the end of this entry.
With the Cubs beating the Pittsburgh Pirates 2-1, Nyjer Morgan was trying to score when Zambrano placed a tag on him. The replays show that Morgan might have been out but the ump called him safe. Then Zambrano exploded. He bumped the ump, which got him ejected. Then he tried to toss the umpire and threw the baseball into the …read more

Pitcher Andy Sonnanstine Forced to Hit

Sunday’s game between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Cleveland Indians will go down as a memorable affair. Prior to the game, the Rays submitted an erroneous lineup card that listed two third basemen and no designated hitter. As a result, Tampa Bay didn’t get to use a designated hitter and instead had to bat starting pitcher Andy Sonnanstine third in the lineup.
Sonnanstine proved that giving him a bat wasn’t all bad as he had an RBI double in the fourth inning. On the mound, Sonnanstine got the win by giving up five earned runs in 5.2 innings. Neither team …read more

Sarah Palin Video – Booed in Erie

Sarah Palin, the Republican Vice President nominee, was recently in Erie, Pennsylvania. She decided to try to get a few cheers by mentioning how nice it was to be in the home state of the Philadelphia Phillies. That comment was greeted with a chorus of boos.
Why would the people in Erie boo Sarah Palin for talking about the Phillies? Erie isn’t Phillies country. Even though both cities are in the state of Pennsylvania, Erie is almost an eight hour drive away from Philadelphia.
Those Erie residents who booed are most likely either fans of the Cleveland Indians or the Pittsburgh …read more

Jaime Moyer Video – Game 3 Starter

If you are having trouble getting excited about the 2008 World Series between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Tampa Bay Rays, you should check out the Game 3 starters. Starting for the Phillies is none other than 45-year-old Jamie Moyer.
Moyer, who is by far the oldest player in the series, is more than just a good story. He’s still a very good pitcher. For stretches of the regular season, he was the best pitcher on the Phillies. Without him, Philadelphia likely wouldn’t be where they are today.
Although Moyer has lost some zip on his fastball, he’s amazingly crafty on …read more

Dodgers Fans Spray Beer on Police – Video

Apparently, the Los Angeles Dodgers fans weren’t too happy losing in the NLCS against the Philadelphia Phillies. During a game in Los Angeles, Dodgers fans sprayed beer on police officers who were in the crowd. You can see the video of the event at the end of the entry.
As you can see, dousing the LAPD with beer is never a good idea. The fans who did so were forcefully taken from their seats and drug down the stairs. Note to Dodgers fans — drink it, don’t spray it.
Here is the video of Dodgers fans throwing beer at the LAPD during …read more

Mohawk Bikini Wax Video – Tampa Bay Rays

Fans of the Tampa Bay Rays are excited about the team’s amazing ascent from last place to the American League Championship Series. Rays fans are showing their appreciation in many ways — including the popular Rays tribute song.
However, this latest video may illustrate the most hardcore Rays fans. In the video below, you will learn about the mohawk bikini wax that is becoming increasingly popular in the Tampa Bay area. Many males are sporting mohawks to support their Rays. The females have now found a way to sport their own mohawks — south of the border. The bikini wax mohawks …read more

James Greanias Video – Did he curse the Cubs?

According to a number of reports, Greek Orthodox priest Reverend Father James Greanias was brought in to exorcise the Chicago Cubs dugout prior to Game 1 of their NLDS series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. In the video at the this entry, you can see him at work in the Cubs dugout.
However, now that the Cubs got swept by the Dodgers, some Cubs fans are wondering whether he accidentally cursed the 2008 Cubs instead. Greanias, who is from St. Iakovos Church, traveled from his Valparaiso home to do the exorcism. With the way the Cubs played in the regular season, …read more

Mariano Rivera Video – Getting Dirt from Mound

An unintentionally hilarious video ensued at the last game played at Yankee Stadium. Mariano Rivera, who is undoubtedly the best closer in New York Yankees history (and baseball history, for that matter), went to get some dirt off of the pitchers mound. For some reason, every photographer in a 200 mile radius of New York City descended onto Rivera to watch him.
You can watch the video at the end of the entry to see just how funny it turned out to be. You’d think Rivera was doing something substantial — but he’s actually just putting dirt into a cup. I’d …read more

Skydiver Video – Crashing into Baseball Fence

In the minor leagues, teams get creative to try to attract fans to the games. One way to get creative is to come up with unique ways the game ball can be delivered. The minor league team in this video thought it’d be cool if a skydiver delivered the ball. Watch the skydiver video to see how it goes horribly wrong.
Let’s just say a baseball fence, a skydiver and a crash were involved. Thankfully, reports indicate that the skydiver ended up being just fine.
Here is the skydiver video that was filmed at a minor league baseball …read more
