Torre Reacts To Steroid Probe

Of course he does.  You see, and it’s no secret, two of Torre’s biggest stars on the Yankees, Gary Sheffield and Jason Giambi are, like Barry Bonds, right in the crosshairs of about 10 million allegations surrounding steroid use.  The last thing Torre wants is Sheff and Giambi not performing.

While Torre did admit, thank God, that steroids are in fact dangerous, he was careful to defend his players by mentioning that steroids weren’t implemented into a punishment policy until 2004, and if his players were using before that, they can’t be punished.

You know, I guess the bottom line is, I’m tired of hearing about steroids.  I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’d rather sit down, watch a 9 inning game that ended up 2-1 with no homeruns, knowing it was on all natural skill, than see the score at 11-9 with 4 homers from guys juiced up.  That’s just me.
