When Memes Attack

I’ve been sitting on this a while because, well, I don’t know why. Miki tagged me last month, and what the heck, it’s the holidays. Here are seven things you probably don’t know about me:

• I’ve broken two bones in my life, both playing softball. First was my right ankle in 1985, second was my right orbital (below the eye) in 1995. Recognizing a pattern, I didn’t play softball in 2005.
• Jack Black and I were classmates my freshman year in high school. I didn’t know this until recently, but Wikipedia says it’s true (well, it did at some point), so who am I to argue?
• I once played Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love a Bad Name” on mandolin. Rest assured, it won’t happen again.
• My favorite character on “The Office” (U.S.) is Creed because he has no redeeming features whatsoever. I’ve known people like this in real life, and they are horrendous, but it makes for great TV.
• I have a minor in philosophy, which is even more useless than it sounds.
• I detest flying. If I can get somewhere by car, I’ll drive there no matter how long it takes.
• One summer in college, I worked as a temp in LA. My jobs included delivering mail at a movie studio (Mickey Rourke had an office that he never used), making cold calls for a company that manufactured police weapons, and going door-to-door trying to get people to sign petitions and donate money to some crazy cause. This experience was helpful in identifying three things I absolutely didn’t want to do with my life.

I’m supposed to tag other people, but I think I covered just about everyone I know that last time one of these rolled around, so I’ll just say that if you’d like to pick up the meme, go nuts.
