jimmie rollins is a true MVP. he doesn't ONLY support his team through stats at the plate but also does it in the field. Hence "the Golden Glove". Has any of the other contenders done thier role as an MVP on the field quite like Jimmie Rollins has? I think not! Sure they have great stats at the plate. To which those stats are very important to a teams success. But to what extent does offense help your team to not lose games? Defense is a large part of what makes you Valuable to an organization. Look at A-Rod. He plays a position of importance. And he won the AL MVP.....J-Roll is the NL MVP

J-Roll has put up historical numbers from the lead off spot. He also should win the Gold Glove. Holliday is not a leader the way that Jimmy Rollins is. The MVP is the single player that helps their own team to win and to hold that team together. J-Roll backs up what he says. Have you guys heard of Super Bowl III? Great players back it up on the field. No player in baseball has held a team together like Jimmy has this year.

I should have made this more clear in my post, but the main reasons for thinking Wright will win it rather than Fielder or Howard is that the Brewers and Phillies both have some work to do to get into the playoffs. If either of those games reach the playoffs, I think they could take the award. Either way though, I think Wright is the favorite right now.

In completely unrelated news, if I was actually picking who I thought was the best player, I would take Wright- Hanley has the lead in VORP by about 13 runs, but I'm pretty sure Wright's defensive advantage more than makes up for that. If Utley hadn't missed three weeks, it would have been him.
