Hence "the Golden Glove". Has any of the other contenders done thier role as an MVP on the field quite like Jimmie Rollins has? I think not! Sure they have great stats at the plate. To which those stats are very important to a teams success. But to what extent does offense help your team to not lose games? Defense is a large part of what makes you Valuable to an organization. Look at A-Rod. He plays a position of importance. If either of those games reach the playoffs, I think they could take the award. Either way though, I think Wright is the favorite right now. In completely unrelated news, if I was actually picking who I thought was the best player, I would take Wright- Hanley has the lead in VORP by about 13 runs, but I'm pretty sure Wright's defensive advantage more than makes up for that. If Utley hadn't missed three weeks, it would have been him.
