Thanks to a concerned player who thinks his game of choice is worth mentioning in MMOtaku, we now know that PristonTale, a 3D fantasy massively multiplayer online game that centers on action-based role-playing, is still alive in the Philippines.
Here’s an excerpt from jbking’s comment on MMOtaku’s Top Ten Thursdays: Best MMORPGs in the Philippines:
Did you ever heard (sic) of priston tale??why it is not included?? i think it has the most balanced aspects in a game.. it has graphics, good story line, nice set of characters..
Of course it has graphics, brother. Otherwise, we won’t be able to play the game. Anyway…
Yes, I’ve played PristonTale. I even had the opportunity to play in the closed beta test. I liked the game then because it was fresh, a deviation from the standards imposed by the then reigning MMORPG in the Philippines, Ragnarok Online.
So what happened? Well, PristonTale was quickly overshadowed by another MMORPG, launched in the Philippines by a media giant. To sum it up, my wife and I were lured away from the world of Priston.
I had the opportunity to revisit Priston back in 2006 and I took it. Actually, my reentry into PristonTale was mandatory, thanks to a commission from a local gaming magazine. My assignment was, of course, PristonTale.
Too bad I can’t find my copy of the article. Might I, instead, entice you with a short backgrounder?
The world of Priston is composed of subtle relations between two tribes: the Morion, who are highly dependent on magic and soul, and the Tempskron, who are high dependent on power and technology. There are basically active exchanges and positive relations between them. In the meanwhile, several omens started occuring in almost all parts of the world. It was so threatening that they began to investigate it, and came to discover a prophecy of the ancients. They realized that the content of the prophecy was composed of predictions, and almost coincided with the omens now under way. However, a real and bigger problem was the prediction in the last part of the prophecy that a new evil species would appear. As both tribes suspected these facts and considered a counter-plan, more serious problems, conflicts and collapses occurred, plunging the world of Priston into chaos.
I got that from the PristonTale website of Netplay, the game’s local publisher. Bad copy, if you ask me. So I edited it a bit, removing the ampersands and correcting a few grammatical mistakes. Ahh, but we’re veering from the topic.
Let me just end with a video on PristonTale:

OMG. I have, around 5 installers of PristonTale at one time. 2 years ago, I was trying out all the mmorpg titles, and I realized PristonTale was the only one I haven’t tried, so I went on a quest to look for installers and game cards. I must have been successful in finding installers (or maybe the stores were just trying to get rid of them as fast as they could? hehehe), but it’s kinda hard to get by PT game cards.
Hopefully they’d be publishing PT2 here, but i see problems regarding the game when it goes commercial here in the country…
nah….
why is it i can’t open the website of pt in Philippines?????
where can i get the installer of PT??????
did anyone know??/
where can i get it???
