Perfect World’s Battle of the Immortals enters closed beta

I remember coming across an announcement story from Beijing-based Perfect World Co. Ltd. about its new adventure massively multiplayer online game called Battle of the Immortals. That was September, roughly two months ago. I was supposed to write something about it or, at the very least, help the Chinese online games giant with a bit of publicity (not that it needs my aid), but news just piled up that month and the announcement story got lost.
It’s now December, and I’ve found the past haunting me. After doing my regular rounds of blogs and websites, I came across an item on China-based online games portal 17173 that Battle of the Immortals has just entered closed beta. Quite unfortunate that we mere mortals can’t participate in the closed beta. That honor belongs to the ancient and immortal people of China. Lucky blokes.
Oh, and since it’s new, there are still no pictures, screenshots, and videos. Type the word Battle of the Immortals on YouTube and you get this:

Perfect World Co. Ltd., a leading online game developer and operator in China, has announced the introduction of the company’s latest new massively multiplayer online role-playing game, Battle of the Immortals, that features mysterious adventures.
Battle of the Immortals will have a distinctive background that includes elements from Norse Mythology and the Qin Dynasty. The game will incorporate elements from both western and eastern cultures by representing historical themes and abundant mythological missions.
