Rohan International hosts Filipino guilds

It’s not much of a surprise, I’m sure, considering Filipino players are prolific, jumping from one game to another while maintaining one to three massively multiplayer online games on the home turf. But with the imminent launch of Rohan Online: Blood Feud in the Philippines, the situation can get a bit tricky.

Rohan: Blood Feud PinoysFinest memberWhy? Well, for starters, I’m sure the powers that be from Level Up! Games, the online games operator that bagged the license to publish Rohan Online: Blood Feud in the Philippines, has been granted exclusivity, meaning all Internet Protocol (IP) addresses in the little tropical country might—just MIGHT—be banned from the global or international server.

So if that happens, what will become of the two—at least I think there are only two—Filipino guilds in Rohan: Blood Feud global? Will its members just accept their fate, pack up their bags and move to the Philippine server with nary a complaint? Or will they try to negotiate for a migration package? It’s unlikely that the second option will push through but weirder things have happened in the world of MMORPGs.

I’m thinking this exact same thing, especially since I’ve been working hard to level up my characters—a Human Knight and a Dhan Assassin—on the international server. What will happen if YNK Interactive, the publisher of Rohan: Blood Feud in North America, chooses to ban IPs in the Philippines? Oh, my poor babies!

I better go get confirmation from friends and contacts at Level Up! Games so that if my fears are realized, I’ll stop leveling my characters and wait patiently for the launch of Rohan: Blood Feud in the Philippines.

Sigh.

The reason why you can’t access Rohan: Blood Feud in North America is because your IP address is banned.

At the time I wrote this article, Rohan Philippines wasn’t online yet. When it came up and started operating in the Philippines, YNK Interactive, the publisher of Rohan in North America, stopped catering to Philippine-based players, as a courtesy to the local publisher, Level Up! Games.
