Level Up! To Launch New Online Shooter

Level Up! Games, an online games publisher based in the Philippines, is set to launch a new massively multiplayer online first-person shooter. As to which game it is, everybody but executives of the gaming giant remains in the dark.
“We are very excited to launch this new game, ad we are confident that this will be the first-person shooter that Filipino gamers will be talking about and getting their action gaming fix from,” said Jane Walker, chief executive officer of Level Up! Games, in a statement.
The only clue that Level Up! has given as to the title of the online game …read more

Crazy Kart 2 Closed Beta Nears

It’s been a long time since I hit the asphalt in the casual online game Crazy Kart, published in my corner of the world by Level Up! Games, and news of the impending closed beta testing of its sequel, Crazy Kart 2, also known as CK2rbo, has caught me completely by surprise.
Before I give you the lowdown on CK2rbo, let’s review what has made the first version a hit among online racing game fanatics.

Is it because of the avatars? Crazy Kart offers a wide variety of avatars, or toons, ranging from cute, sexy and cool to strange and funny. The …read more

Hello Kitty Online Founders’ Beta

How would you like to be one of the first to play Hello Kitty Online? Good news for those living on my side of the pond. Level Up! Games, publisher of cool massively multiplayer online role-playing games like Ragnarok Online, Perfect World and RF Online, has just launched pre-registration for what it dubs the Hello Kitty Online Founders’ Beta.
If you live in North America, though, you may want to check out Hello Kitty Online through Aeria Games & Entertainment Inc., a US-based online games publisher, which announced the acquisition of the game at the 2009 Game Developer Conference in San …read more

Perfect World PH: Short End of Stick

My apologies to my friends and colleagues who work at Level Up! Games, publisher and operator of hit massively multiplayer online role-playing games in the Philippines, including Ragnarok Online and Perfect World. I know the title seems harsh, considering I know how hard you work your butts off to bring us great content, but it’s just the way I feel.
This “feeling” is heightened every time I catch a glimpse of the videos that Perfect World Entertainment, the North American operator and publisher of China-based Perfect World Co. Ltd.’s games, churns out. Take this, for example:
Yes, Philippine players of Perfect World, …read more

MMORPG: Revisiting Ragnarok Online

MMORPG: Revisiting Ragnarok Online

Most players of the current generation of massively multiplayer online role-playing games might view a return to Ragnarok Online as old school. Yes, Ragnarok Online may be that, really old in terms of online games, but it still manages to draw hundreds of players into its fold, especially in Asia, where the game was born.
What piqued my renewed interest in the game was Ragnarok Online Philippines’ Ultimate Game Guide, which features everything a player needs to know about the game, from characters to stat and skill builds to handy charts that clue you in on what monsters to hunt.

So with …read more

Rohan Philippines Now in Open Beta

Rohan Philippines Now in Open Beta

A little late, don’t you think? Yes, I realize this bit of news comes late, but to be totally honest, I’m not too keen on posting news about Rohan: Blood Feud in the Philippines—at least, until I get rid of this bitterness I feel as a result of my failure to join closed beta.
Wait! Before you cast that stone, hear me out (or read about it if you can spare a peek). I got discouraged, plain and simple. I didn’t continue playing Rohan: Blood Feud in the Philippines after the first day of closed beta because of sheer frustration with …read more

Sanrio, Level Up! ink deal for Hello Kitty Online

Sanrio, Level Up! ink deal for Hello Kitty Online

Very journalese, that headline, but it sums up what this article is about. Fans of the lovable Sanrio character Hello Kitty may live out their fantasies as sidekicks to the lovable, uhmmm, pussycat.
Let’s go check out the details of the licensing agreement:
Sanrio Digital and Level Up! Games, the Philippines’ first and leading online games publisher, have announced a distribution agreement to launch Hello Kitty Online in the Philippines.
Hello Kitty Online is the eagerly anticipated official massively multiplayer online role-playing game of the Hello Kitty universe. Under the terms of agreement, Level Up! will publish and operate an English-language version of …read more

Rohan: Blood Feud Philippines CBT begins February 26, 2009

Yes! I’m finally back in the saddle. My apologies to MMOtaku readers. My frail health is getting the better of me. Health issues aside, I’m gearing up for a great week of online gaming, starting with the closed beta test of Rohan: Blood Feud in the Philippines.
As you’ve probably gleaned from the title, Rohan Online Philippines is set to begin its CBT on February 26, and partly due to the hype generated not only by Level Up! Games, publisher of the game, but also by bloggers who want a piece of the action, more and more players seem to be …read more

Rohan: Blood Feud Philippines CBT nears

Rohan: Blood Feud Philippines CBT nears

Yes! Finally, Level Up! Games, licensed operator of Rohan: Blood Feud in the Philippines, is preparing to open the doors to what is probably the most anticipated massively multiplayer online games in this little tropical country this 2009.
The splash page of the official Rohan Philippines website says it all:

I find this news refreshing as I’m already growing tired of playing on the North American or international server. No, it’s not that YNK Interactive, developer of Rohan: Blood Feud, is doing a bad job at handling the hit online game. It’s just that, as I explained in an entry entitled Playing …read more

Fly For Fun Philippines client won’t download?

Fly For Fun Philippines client won’t download?

I’ve been receiving a lot of complaints about how the download link for the Fly For Fun client on the Level Up! Games website won’t work or about the patcher not working, and frankly it’s getting on my nerves.
First, as I’ve said countless times, MMOtaku and b5media are in no way connected to Level Up! Games, publisher of Fly For Fun in the Philippines, and the game’s developer Aeonsoft. If you have a beef with the way Flyff’s being run, take it up with Level Up! or Aeonsoft.
Second, I have tried downloading the client, and it works fine. I downloaded …read more
