It’s time once again for the monthly update on the cast of characters for the upcoming Sony Online Entertainment title DC Universe Online, based on the popular line of comics published by (who else?) DC Comics. This time around, SOE and DC Comics present The Boy Wonder! Not Robin, but Nightwing.
Who the hell is Nightwing and what the heck does he have to do with The Boy Wonder moniker? Well, unless you’ve lived under a rock like Patrick Star for the past three decades, you know that Robin and Nightwing are one and the same, Dick Grayson, also known as …read more

How’s this for a Halloween gimmick? In line with its monthly introduction of the cast of characters for upcoming massively multiplayer online game DC Universe Online, Sony Online Entertainment has just revealed the newest addition to the title’s growing roster, Bizarro.
Bizarro indeed needs no mask to scare pesky children on a trick-or-treat spree on Halloween. For those unfamiliar with this Frankenstein’s Superman, Bizarro is a fictional supervillain that appears in comic books published by DC Comics.
As a testament to the popularity of Bizarro, his name, however fictitious it may be, is often used to describe anything that uses twisted logic …read more

Leave it to Sony Online Entertainment and its highly successful massively multiplayer online game Free Realms to transform common, real-world stuff into virtual items and events. Take, for example, the recent launch of SOE’s newest update for the game, Goal Time.
Free Realms‘ Goal Time introduces a new job, the Soccer Star, into the growing roster of classes you can choose for your toon or avatar. And what’s a Soccer Star without a soccer field and hundreds of adoring fans? Goal Time also comes with an all-new 3D soccer minigame for two three-man teams.
Players can try out the new Soccer Star …read more

Oliver Queen has finally made his introductions in the much-anticipated massively multiplayer online game DC Universe Online from Sony Online Entertainment. For those of you who are unaware of the world of comic books, Oliver Queen, fondly called Ollie by his equally fictional friends, is the alter ego of the well-loved comic book hero The Green Arrow.
Awww, but The Green Arrow isn’t exactly super by some standards, so what is he doing in DC Universe Online. Well, for starters, that’s probably why he’s a well-liked chap. Ollie’s lack of any super powers endears him to a lot of DC Comics …read more

Sony Online Entertainment’s DC Universe Online is shaping up to be a great looking game. To be totally honest with the guys up at SOE and Bender / Helper Impact, the publicity machine of SOE and DC Comics‘ baby, I’ve been ignoring all the press releases they’ve been sending me. It’s not because I’m disinterested with the game. Far from it. Maybe it’s because I want to see where all of it is headed.
The latest announcement, however, is an exception. It’s not every day that you get to see a new incarnation of one of comic-dom’s most loved heroes. I’m …read more

There you have it—the numbers say it all. Free Realms, a new massively multiplayer online game developed by Sony Online Entertainment, has breached three million users, and from all indications, its user base is continuously growing. I should know, I’m one of those who has recently signed up.
Well, I’m not exactly a new user. I signed up for the closed beta but didn’t play. Now I feel like I missed out on a great opportunity to learn more about Free Realms ahead of everybody else. From the character creation screen, the game seems like a cool game indeed.

It’s late, and everybody seems to know about the news that The Matrix Online may be taken offline by the end of July, but I feel the need to post something as big as this. It’s not every day you get to hear about the impending demise of a massively multiplayer online game based on a successful movie franchise.
Here’s what sparked the news that The Matrix Online would be taken down on July 31, 2009:
