I’m talking about Digimon and the little guys’ entry into the world of MMORPGs via Digimon RPG developed by Digitalic.

Well, Digimon fans in China and North America don’t have to wait long for the game. CDC Games has already announced the impending launch of Digimon RPG within the year.

As everyone may have already surmised, Digimon RPG is based on the popular cartoon series in Japan. It shouldn’t be confused with Pokemon, another successful cartoon series that features similar-looking critters.

Here are some Digimon RPG basics:

You start the game as any of four Digimon trainers: Henry Wong, Jeri Katou, Rika Nonaka, and Takato Matsuki. In the same light, your trainer will be given a starter Digimon to train or, in some rare cases, trade. The starter digimons include Gigimon, Gummymon, and Viximon.

Of course, a Digimon game will never be complete without the myriad catchable digimons like Bukamon, DemiMeramon, Kapurimon, Motimon, Nyaromon, Tsunomon and Zurumon. The list is actually longer, but we can’t spare the space to list down all digimons and their powers.

There are also special digimon that can only be captured during events, including Beelzemon Blast Mode, Gallanton Crimson Mode, Imperialdramon Paladin Mode, Omnimon, Megidramon, Rapidmon, and BlackSeraphimon.

Digimon battles are turn-based. Players start with whatever digimon he or she set as their main digimon. Each digimon on the field has a timer. Once this timer bar is filled, the tamer or player may order his or her digimon to act. Of course, actions aren’t limited to orders. Tamers can also do several things in digimon battles like switching digimons and evolving their digimons.

Curious? Well, don’t let me stop you from viewing this game tutorial:
