Ntreev USA has just unveiled a new playable character in the massively multiplayer online game Grand Chase. Sieghart made its debut on North American servers of the online brawler on October 28th.

“Sieghart is a fabulous new addition to Grand Chase,” said Chris Lee, chief executive officer at Ntreev USA. “Sieghart is a skilled and accomplished character that our players are sure to enjoy. That combined with the multiple Halloween events going on make October a big month for Grand Chase and its community.”

New Grand Chase character Sieghart

Now that October is ending, it’s time for Grand Chase players to look forward to a better future courtesy of more updates.

Let’s take a closer look at Sieghart, shall we?

Sieghart was a renowned hero of Bermesiah (the world of Grand Chase) 600 years ago, but disappeared in the midst of ruins. Reappearing in the times of Grand Chase, he tells the people that the Highlander gods saved him from death and gave him the gift of immortality.

In continuing the saga of Grand Chase, Sieghart comes in at a time when a few brave knights and nobles are trying to stop the Ascendant God from invading Bermesiah.

Sieghart, by the way, is also the name of Elesis’ grandfather. Beyond that, they have little similarity. Sieghart has a chargeable gauge to strengthen attacks, much like Jin’s, that fills up over time. This gauge fills faster whenever Sieghart gets damaged or deals damage. Like Elesis, Sieghart wields a long blade.

Aside from the introduction of Sieghart, Ntreev USA is holding various Halloween events for Grand Chase, like the Jack-o-Lantern Drop event where players receive special items to use in their quests. This event will run until November 3rd.

For more information about these Halloween events, make sure to drop by the official Grand Chase website.

Who the hell is Ryan and what the heck is a Vanquisher? If you’re asking these questions, you’re most probably not a player of the hit online action brawler Grand Chase, operated in North America by Ntreev USA.

To answer your questions, Ryan is the name of a character in Grand Chase and the Vanquisher is his fourth job. Here’s a short background on Ryan:

A long time ago, a Druid hero named Dan possessed destructive magic and sword skills which were heads above the rest. Although he had protected the Druids, who considered co-existing with nature to be very important, from evil and those who would destroy them, Dan sensed that the Druids’ downfall was approaching and sought to find a warrior who would receive his strength.

Many strong Sentinels and Vikens accepted his test in order to receive his strength, but few survived and returned, and those who did manage to survive were now too weak in mind and body to handle Dan’s strength. Dan then declared Ryan, who rescued Bermesiah Continent during its time of crisis, his successor, and bestowed upon him the Storm Blades and the ability to transform himself at will. Sybil, the Druids’ prophetess, declared Ryan the “Vanquisher,” the one who rescued the continent from evil’s darkness and succeeded Dan.

Okay. Enough with the history lesson. Now we move on to Ryan’s new abilities as a Vanquisher.

Ryan’s power as a Vanquisher seems to be tied to the Storm Blades, a spear that can be split in two and put back together. Depending on the situation (read: fight), Ryan can wield a blade in each hand and engage in rapid and successive attacks or a double-sided spear to attack a larger number of enemies.

Those familiar with Ryan and his previous jobs—Druid, Sentinel and Viken—know the limitations of the character (ie. skill use, weapon being wielded), particularly when he enters a transformed state. The Vanquisher, Ryan’s fourth job, does not have these limitations. If Ryan transforms into Magnus Dan, he has at his disposal power attack magic, weapon-wielding abilities, and all three skills—Turning Breaker, Blinding Cross and Lord of Valhalla.

More on Ryan and his role as a Vanquisher straight from Ntreev USA:

Ntreev USA, a leading online game developer and publisher, has announced that players can now take on the powerful role of Vanquisher for its character, Ryan, in the online action-adventure MMO brawler, Grand Chase. This is the 4th job for Ryan and is already available to players.

“Ryan’s 4th job as Vanquisher is an exciting new addition for our Grand Chase players,” said Chris Lee, chief executive officer at Ntreev USA. “Ryan has the ability to transform himself at will, ad his character will prove to be dynamic, with unique fighting weapon abilities.”

Game Points and Cash Mission Scrolls will be available for the job change in order for Ryan to become a Vanquisher. Players must have Ryan at least at level 30 and at his third job in order to complete the job change missions.

It seems Ntreev USA’s move to relaunch the casual online golf game Pangya is paying off—that is, if the opening of a new server for the game is any indication. Grand Chase, another Ntreev USA title, is enjoying a similar success.

Here’s what Ntreev USA has to say about its decision to launch new servers for Grand Chase and Pangya:

“Needing to open new servers for both Grand Chase and Pangya is a testimony that both titles continue to thrive, especially with our continuous efforts to provide new and compelling content for players,” said Chris Lee, chief executive officer at Ntreev USA. “With the addition of Jin as a playable character last week for Grand Chase, and a new patch for Pangya this week and new Season 4 content coming soon, we are excited for players to check out all the new gameplay elements we have in store for them.”

In the action adventure massively multiplayer online brawler Grand Chase, a new character, Jin, a melee specialist, was introduced last week. His character attributes, including a special fighting ability and special attacks, help him as he joins the chase to search for Luther, leader of the Silver Knights.

Jin has three classes, the first job being Fighter, where he uses his fists and feet to attack. He also possesses the unique ability to “burn,” which makes him stronger and changes his skills. Jin can charge the gauge and use the charge to perform special attacks or to improve skills. If the bar is fully charged, Jin will go into “burn” mode, making several new attacks available, and boosting his skills and attack power.

Pangya, on the other hand, was patched late last week. The latest update included the release of special items and the limited time “Pang Ramyon” caddy, which may be purchased using Chrono Points. Twenty five Chrono Points can be earned for every 10 minutes of gameplay. This special event will end on June 24th, so players should make sure to earn their Chrono Points now.

In addition to the new patch, players can look forward to this summer’s release of Season 4 content, including an all-new Self Design Feature, where players can totally custom create a character’s outfit from head to toe. Cool!

New servers and new content! What more can players ask for?

Good news for Grand Chase fanatics in North America. A new character is joining the ranks of Grand Chase Knights and his name is Jin, a melee specialist.

Don’t know what the heck Grand Chase is? Let me fill you in:

Grand Chase is a free-to-play, 2.5-dimension side-scrolling massively multiplayer online role-playing game developed by Korean company KOG Studios. The story centers around the adventures of the Grand Chase team.

For more information about Grand Chase, check out the official North America website or several MMOtaku reviews of the game.

Oh, yeah, the announcement. Almost forgot about that. Let’s get to it then:

Ntreev USA, a leading online games developer and publisher, has announced that it will unveil an all-new character for its action-adventure MMO brawler Grand Chase next week. As the eighth member of the Grand Chase, Jin joins the chase to search for Luther, the leader of the Silver Knights, and finds himself infatuated with Amy.

“Jin is a fantastic addition to the Knights of Grand Chase,” said Chris Lee, chief executive officer at Ntreev USA. “Next week, the North American Grand Chase gamers will experience the speed, strength and force of this melee madman and his ability to really burn things up.”

And by “burn,” they mean it literally.

Jin, you see, is a melee specialist from the Silver Land and a member of the Silver Knights who is a fast, heavy attacker with very short range. Here’s the reason why I say “burn” is literal when pertaining to Jin: He possesses the unique ability to burn, a special ability that makes him stronger and changes his skills. Jin can charge the gauge and use the charge to perform special attacks or gain improved skills.

The reason for this hiatus: Perfect World, despite all its features and allure, just doesn’t cut it anymore. The game has lost its appeal, to me and my wife, right after our resignation from the clan we helped build. Oh, yes, we formed a new clan, Illuminati, so that we could stay in touch with good online friends, but as soon as they left the clan in search of excitement via joining other, more powerful clans, we suddenly found ourselves alone again.

So my wife decided to pack up her virtual bags and move to another game, Florensia. Unfortunately, her stint as a diminutive Saint was short lived. I’ve had a similar experience trying to juggle a few online games, including Perfect World, Requiem: Bloodymare, Grand Chase, and Atlantica. My characters remain at low levels, stagnant for a few days to a week, or until I give them the attention they deserve.

About a month ago, a friend, Rovil, approached me in the game Perfect World and asked me to join the Guardians Extension, a clan in Perfect World Philippines’ Tiger Server. Since I couldn’t move my main character, Werefox or Yaojing Malystryx, from the main clan of Guardians, I gave Rovil my second character, Calumet, an Elven Priest or Yuling.

On my first day as an officer of the Guardians Extension, however, I got into a row with another officer over the recruitment of members. I won’t divulge anymore the details of the argument, only that it resulted in my resignation from the clan. Fortunately, another friend, Mabel, offered me a position in her clan, TheSaints.

It turned out that the offer was the start of something good.

After Level Up! Games and Perfect World Co. Ltd. wiped the ownership of territories (meaning those clans that held territories had become landless), TheSaints bid for a territory and won. That was two weeks ago. Just recently, TheSaints got its first taste of a massacre, courtesy of Tiger Server powerhouse, clan Exiled. It took Exiled all of, what, six or so minutes to eliminate our hold over Carefree Path, one of the territories on the Perfect World map.

Fortunately, TheSaints took over another territory, Dragon Slope, from another fledgling clan, DyNasty. The battle, which took about two and a half hours, was long-drawn and very tiring. It was also very expensive, since I bought a couple of amulets (which regenerate hitpoints when it falls below 50 percent), a few hierograms (which fill up a character’s mana when it plummets to 75 percent), and hundreds of potions. But the pain to both my body and my wallet was worth it.

The only thing we have to worry about now is Exiled taking our territory again. It seems I need to force myself into being active again.

There you have it, my verdict on Philippines-based Level Up! Games‘ newest acquisition, Grand Chase. Wait a minute … don’t tell me you don’t know what Grand Chase is! Okay, okay, here’s a brief background:
Grand Chase is a free-to-play, 2.5-dimension (is there such a thing?) side-scrolling massively multiplayer online role-playing game developed by Korean company KOG Studios. The story centers around the adventures of the Grand Chase team.

Grand Chase has servers in Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Brazil, Southeast Asia (including, I suppose, the Philippines), and the United States. The Taiwan and Hong Kong server calls the game Three Young Heroes (very literal if you ask me because there are, at the beginning of the game, only three playable characters). In the rest of Southeast Asia, the game is known as Grand Chase.

Okay, so now we all know that Grand Chase is a side-scrolling MMORPG. But what’s so exciting about an online game that only lets you move in a straight line, either left to right or vice-versa, or up and down?

I think Ben Colayco, founder of Level Up! Games, nailed it on the head when he said in an interview that Grand Chase takes all the elements of popular and hard-core MMORPGs, repackaged them into a side-scrolling fighting game, and made playing online games fun again. In a nutshell, Grand Chase is both MMORPG and fighting game (i.e. Street Fighter, Tekken, or Mortal Kombat) rolled into one.

What makes Grand Chase more fun is the ability of players to dress up their avatars. Yes, customization is pretty limited since all Grand Chase player characters look alike underneath all that armor and weapons, but the fun is in the acquiring, using, and showing off all that glitzy, sharpened metal.

Don’t take my word for it, try the game. If you live and play in an area where Level Up! Games, AsiaSoft, Ntreev Soft, and Gamania operate, then your in luck. Check out their homepages, register for and download Grand Chase, and prepare for the experience of an MMORPG lifetime.
