A little late, don’t you think? Yes, I realize this bit of news comes late, but to be totally honest, I’m not too keen on posting news about Rohan: Blood Feud in the Philippines—at least, until I get rid of this bitterness I feel as a result of my failure to join closed beta.
Wait! Before you cast that stone, hear me out (or read about it if you can spare a peek). I got discouraged, plain and simple. I didn’t continue playing Rohan: Blood Feud in the Philippines after the first day of closed beta because of sheer frustration with …read more

Whew! After more than a year, I finally get a whiff of news about Lunia, a massively multiplayer online role-playing action game operated by CDC Games and developed by ALLM Co. Ltd. of Korea. Let’s see, hmmm, yes, the last time I wrote about Lunia was in February 2008, when CDC Games launched the game in North America.
So what’s new with Lunia? Well, fans of the online game in North America may not be as happy as those in China. Here’s why:
CDC Games, a business unit of CDC Corporation and a pioneer of the free-to-play, pay-for-merchandise model for online games …read more

China-based online games operator 17game has just announced the schedule for the final round of closed beta testing for Street Gear. I don’t have much by way of game mechanics and other game-related features, but I’ve found a video about Street Gear that might interest you.
Meanwhile, get the latest news about Street Gear in China from this tidbit on online games portal 17173:
According to Chinese game operator 17game, the final round of closed beta for Street Gear will be held on February 16.

In the fast-expanding industry of online games, one would expect a popular first-person shooter to outshine shooters made exclusively for online gaming fanatics. Well, this seems to be the case with China-based Tian City’s latest addition to its titles, Counter-Strike Online.
Counter-Strike Online, of course, is the newest incarnation of the highly popular mod to Valve’s Half-Life franchise. The MMOFPS first saw the light of day in South Korea and, thanks to Nexon, has since expanded its reach to Japan and China.
Recently, Tian City, operator of the online shooter in China, announced a breakthrough, which online games portal 17173 was able …read more

Gee, why am I not surprised? Seriously now. I’m really not surprised that massively multiplayer online role-playing games is still the preferred genre of online games fanatics despite the fact that popularity of online fighting or battle games and music and dance games is picking up.
Here’s the lowdown from China-based online games portal 17173:
According to The Eighth China Online Game Market Survey, most Chinese players rated MMORPG as their favorite game genre, no matter their ages. For players whose age fall between 19 and 25, the percentage is lower, at about 78.3 percent. They are more for online battle games.

Pardon me for posting this video if you’ve already seen it. I haven’t been keeping tabs on Aion: The Tower of Eternity since its teaser website made my computer crash a several months ago. So you can just imagine the wonder in my eyes when I saw this video:
The graphics of Aion looks great and the sound effects seem crisp, but I just have to go hands on to pass judgment. Knowing NCsoft, however, I’m sure disappointment will be far from my thoughts.
Now, the only hindrances are Aion’s actual release date in North America (yes, I’ll be playing on the …read more

I remember coming across an announcement story from Beijing-based Perfect World Co. Ltd. about its new adventure massively multiplayer online game called Battle of the Immortals. That was September, roughly two months ago. I was supposed to write something about it or, at the very least, help the Chinese online games giant with a bit of publicity (not that it needs my aid), but news just piled up that month and the announcement story got lost.
It’s now December, and I’ve found the past haunting me. After doing my regular rounds of blogs and websites, I came across an item on …read more
