I’ve been scouring the Internet for the past hour or so after reading a tip that NBA Street Online will be launched in China in June or July 2009. The result: iffy or really old and unreliable news items.
Here’s the tidbit I found about the impending launch of NBA Street Online:
NBA Street Online Will Launch in Mainland China This Summer
When interviewed, Chen Yongzheng, chief executive officer of NBA China revealed that an NBA MMO will launch this June or July.

Korean MMORPGs enter US market

An online game publisher in the United States has raised US$11 million for its expansion efforts in preaching the virtues of Asian MMORPGs in the Western World. Leading the investors in Outspark is Tencent, a Chinese Internet portal and instant messaging company.
In an interview with Worlds In Motion, Outspark executives Susan Choe and Nick Foster said the company’s primary goal was to help PC-based online games find the same market in North America as they currently enjoy in Asia.

Dungeon and Fighter: Side-scrolling fun

I can’t understand the appeal of two-dimensional side-scrolling games in this age of 3D and massively multiplayer online games. I mean, going to arcades from time to time, bashing the heads in of Street Fighter dudes Ken and Ryu being controlled by your best bud is cool, but I don’t see how it compares with logging into a great MMORPG and wreaking havoc on both players and monsters with your best tanker bud by your side.
