Reggie Miller decided not to push through with his comeback to the NBA but the Boston Celtics, who wanted him, got another quality player in James Posey. The former member of the Miami Heat agreed to the terms of contract with the Celtics and will add more depth, talent and versatility to the roster. “He’s a huge addition to our team. He’s got incredible versatility on both ends of the court,” Ainge said. “I think he’s got more offensive firepower than has been utilized in some of the places he’s been in the course of his career.” Posey is a tough defender but his offensive game is pretty underrated too. His size and skills give him the versatility to play the 2 or the 3 spot, making him a valuable... [Read more]

NBA player Eddie Griffin was killed in a car crash last week when his SUV collided with a freight train, causing the car to be engulfed flame. He was only positively identified from dental records. It’s... [Read more]

When he signed up with the Memphis Grizzlies, that’s exactly what his plan was. But the situation in Memphis has changed. The team has a new look, rejuvenated by new young faces and even a new coach. The arrival of 4th overall pick Mike Conley Jr. (the top point guard selected) together with their first round pick from the year before Kyle Lowry has changed the situation for Stoudamire. Instead of being THE man at the point, it seems like Stoudamire will be forced to take the mentoring role for the two young play makers. This isn’t what he signed up for... [Read more]

Word is the Heat is intent on making another push to acquire Ron Artest, trying to entice Sacramento with Udonis Haslem and others. Miami Herald 8/19/07 Take a look at the Heat roster and you’ll find that they already have Antoine Walker, Dorell Wright, Penny Hardaway and a bunch of other guys who can play the wing. Word is rookie shooting guard Daequan Cook is showing improvement too. Acquiring Ron Artest isn’t exactly a need right now especially if the price will be Udonis Haslem. Udonis Halsem is their young talented and hard working power forward who can score and rebound well. The Heat need him especially since Shaq is getting injured a lot more often now and Alonzo Mourning announced that this coming season will be his last.... [Read more]
