Celtics Lose 18 Straight

The last game of the Celtics against the Minnesota Timberwolves ended in yet another disheartening loss as Ricky Davis of the T’Wolves made a buzzer beating shot with 0.2 seconds left. T’Wolves win 109-107. With so many losses coming one after the other it’s probably diffuclt for the Celtics to keep count but I’m sure they’ve been told they actually set a franchise record of losing 18 straight games.

With all those championship banners hanging over the rafters and all those basketball greats that have their jerseys beside them, it’s really sad and unfortunate that the picture you get from the Celtics nowadays is that of losing. Not only did they break the franchise record of 18 straight losses but they’re also now the worst team in the league in terms of winning percentage at 0.240 (12-38). If only Red Auerbach can see the mess his team has gotten into, especially since the team dedicated this season in his honor, he’d be rolling in his grave. The Celtics started the season winless at 0-3 and not much has been done to improve on that as you can see with the 18 straight losses. The only plus side is that they now have a big chance to draft the likes of Greg Oden or Kevin Durant in the off season but will a rookie be the answer in Boston next season when the team is already so full of young players with great potential (Gerald Green, Al Jefferson, Delonte West, Sebastian Telfair etc.) and yet they’re still losing like hell? Something has to be done. Something has to be changed. (Read my lips, fire Danny Ainge. He doesn’t know what the heck he’s doing! Don’t wait. Do it now!)
