Charlie Villanueva To The Bucks

The Toronto Raptors traded incoming sophomore forward Charlie Villanueva to the Milwaukee Bucks for point guard TJ Ford and some cash considerations.

While Charlie V. had a great rookie campaign, the Raptors needed a point guard, which led to some speculation that they would trade their 1st overall pick down to select prospect point guard Marcus Williams. Draft day came and the Raps selected Italian forward Andrea Bargnani first overall, furthermore causing a logjam at the forward spot and still no decent point guard.. Marcus Williams slipped all the way to no. 22 taken by the Nets.

This trade for TJ Ford gives them a great point guard to fill in that hole while loosening the forward logjam. It’s a nice move for the Raptors but a pretty strange one for the Bucks. Well, they get a good combo forward anyway so I guess it’s good.
