Heat Interested In Maggette

Like last year, the Miami Heat are struggling early and are far from the championship form they had in the playoffs. Perhaps this is why they’re building an interest in Clipper swing man Corey Maggette.
The Clippers forward has been on the trading block since last season, and the Heat has players that are in a similar salary range to Maggette, including James Posey and Antoine Walker.
While considered one of the last resorts in improving the way the team plays, a trade has proven to bring results in many occasions. The 2004 Pistons wouldn’t have won that title if not for the Rasheed Wallace trade and the Kings made the playoffs last season even when they a bit far off from making it because they traded for Ron Artest. Getting Maggette could bring some toughness to the roster since he’s a strong explosive swing man who can play the 2 and the 3 position. My concern is that Maggette seems to have become quite injury prone as of late and that could hurt an already injury plagued Heat roster.
