Instant replay comes to the NBA

NBA Obsessed takes you into the hit and run game of NBA Basketball.

Actually there have been legal times the NBA could refer to replay and no, the coach does not have to throw a flag or lose a timeout.

Game officials will be able to use instant replay in two cases:

• At any time to determine whether a field goal was properly awarded two or three points and to determine the correct number of free throws on a missed two- or three-point field goal.

• If the game clock malfunctions during a play ending with no time left at the end of a quarter or overtime.

The NBA moves so fast on the court that use of replay would almost ruin the game if used too much. Checking for 3 pointers and clock malfunctions seem about right.

As always, any NBA Basketball related comments are welcome.

I like the idea of instant replay. As long as it doesn’t slow down the game.

  2. Kelly says:

I agree, especially with replay for clock malfunctions. Anything more would really slow down the game too much.

  3. Nadine L says:

I’m all for instant replay even if it sometimes slows the game a little. If they set strict guidelines I don’t see it being anymore of a problem than it has been in the MLB so far
