Keeping Sonics In Seattle Was Never The Plan

I would expect that even the thought of the Seattle Supersonics leaving Seattle is somewhat unthinkable for most NBA fans. All that history and all those people connected to the franchise like Lenny Wilkens, Dennis Johnson, Jack Sikma, and Gary Payton among others have had the Sonics experience in Seattle and nowhere else. But it seems most likely that the Sonics will relocate. Minority owner Aubrey McClendon admitted that the owners’ desire is to get the franchise out of Seattle.
“But we didn’t buy the team to keep it in Seattle. We hoped to come here,” he said. “We know it’s a little more difficult financially here in Oklahoma City, but we think it’s great for the community and if we could break even, we’d be thrilled.”
The politics and other factors behind whether or not the Sonics will stay in Seattle is a messy prospect to follow. All I’m saying is that if they do leave, that’s going to be really sad for the city and for the fans. On the other hand, Oklahoma was very happy to become an NBA city at least for a short while when the Hornets held most of their games there. I’m sure they’ll welcome the Sonics just as well if they do move.

i hope Celtics has a great season and we can see Boston matches in Spain again after 2 seasons with no emission or made at complicate hours.
