Dirk is a prop, not a superstar. He only does what is allowed by other teams, the refs and NBA marketing. I have yet to see him go score crazy in an all-star game where the NBA again utilizes the marketability of it's most athletic players by having the most athletic players trade point after point with no defense. The Dallas market will not allow Chris Paul the market to feel as though he would be the leader of the Mavericks, by tabbing Dirk as the, once savior, but now heart and soul of the team. I have been disgusted at how the Dallas media has ridiculed every player on the Mavericks team except Barrera and Nowitski, implying that the Mavericks have been winning multiple games during the regular season without the contribution of these ridiculed players. Dirk normally suffers collapses during playoff games against athletic teams, but all of a sudden encounters his will to score against the most athletic team in the west.
