NBA First To Require Standardized Cardiac Screening

Eddy Curry. Fred Hoiberg. Ronny Turiaf. Jason Colier.

Those are names of NBA players who had heart complications just this past season.Collier paid the highest price of all for his heart complication – he paid with his life. These incidents have raised alarms all throughout the league so the league will require standardized cardiac screening from now on starting next month.

In the case of Turiaf, doctors said he would have died if he didn’t have surgery. He is thankful that his condition was spotted immediately and now he’s just happy to be alive and able to play too. Turiaf’s case was a near miss and a miss is what the league wants to prevent so standardized cardiac testing will be required.

Thank you Hsien Lei from A Hearty Life for bringing this to my attention. You can also read about this in A Hearty Life through this link.
