NBA Obsessed

Pistons give Boston home loss

NBA Obsessed takes you into the hit and run game of NBA Basketball.

Chauncey Billups is on fire!

Chauncey BillupsThat does not make Boston homeless, just gives them a home loss.

The final score was Detroit 87 Boston 85.

Chauncey Billups was the big hero for Detroit with 28 points.

Kevin Garnett was an unstoppable monster for Boston with 26 points.

Boston almost pulled the game out with two 3 pointers in the last 30 seconds by Eddie House and Ray Allen. Even the gremlins of the Boston parquet floor helped out as Chauncey dribbled through a loose double team and the ball suddenly took a high bounce into Kevin Garnett’s hands leading to a last second miss by Paul Pierce with 1.7 seconds left. Rasheed Wallace pulled down the game saving big time rebound.

After a TO, Mr. Big Shot, Chauncey Billups, faked Tony Allen into the air and drew a foul. Tony had no choice, Chauncey was on fire!

Chauncey, shooting 91% from the free throw line, calmly sank them both to ice the game.

This game was awesome. It was played with a playoff atmosphere. The mighty Boston Celtics with the Big 3 vs. the always in the conference finals Pistons.

This game was not about Detroit going into Boston and proving a point. It was not about Boston measuring themselves against the Pistons. No, this game was just playoff atmosphere of two very talented teams competing against each other.

Wait a minute, didn’t Detroit send a message?

Yeah, but these two teams will be very different come playoff time. The Boston Celtics have 9 new players. That is a whole lotta new players to fit into a Doc Rivers system.

Even the established Pistons play all kinds of young guys like Jason Maxiell and Aaron Afflalo. They learned last year in the playoffs that you need experienced subs so you don’t run out of gas.

So, your intrepid author and Piston fan will be doing some bragging tomorrow, but let’s keep in mind that both of these teams will be better come playoff time, barring injury.
