NBA Obsessed takes you into the hit and run game of NBA Basketball.
You have Chris Bosh. He is an excellent player and almost nobody in the USA realizes it. Chris will be a free agent next year and may want to belong to a different NBA team. Is he that good? What do you do?
He played on the Olympic team, you know.
During the tournament itself, Bosh operated as the main backup to center Dwight Howard as Team USA went unbeaten in all eight games en route to the gold medal, defeating Spain in the …read more

Hey, the Heat can forget about Amare Stoudemire.
Miami finally took that option Friday, taking the Heat out of the chase for Marion’s ex-Phoenix Suns teammate Amare Stoudemire.
In a deal first reported by ESPN The Magazine’s Ric Bucher, the Heat agreed to trade Marion and guard Marcus Banks to the Raptors for O’Neal and swingman Jamario Moon.

All Shawn Marion did was lay down a dunk to beat the Bulls and then get shipped out of town.
Is this deal a big deal?
well, no, maybe, yes, depends.

Maybe Boston is just bored, but they just went through a period where losses came more often than wins and that has been rare the last two years.
Boston 115 Toronto 109 OT
Now they turn to Paul Pierce for 39 points to beat a Toronto team missing both Calderon and O’Neal. Sunday they needed 36 from Ray Allen to be Toronto. The big 3 has turned into the big one at a time. Now it is Garnett’s turn to beat Toronto one would assume.

Zach Randolph is sent to the Clippers
The Knicks have shown the door to half the team or so it seems. Time to clean out the deadwood and find some winners.
The summer of 2010 is still almost two years away, but on Friday the New York Knicks officially made themselves players in what is expected to be the richest free agent crop in recent history. In two bold strokes, Knicks president Donnie Walsh has shed a pair contracts that have hung around his neck like an albatross since …read more

LeBron James must be crying in his orange juice. Once again the Cleveland Cavaliers have failed to help him out. It is very hard to believe that LeBron will spend his whole career in Cleveland.
Don’t get me wrong, Jermaine O’Neal is not the best player in the league, but he is a mobile scoring front line player that could have changed the whole complexion of the Cavaliers.
The Pacers were looking for a starter-quality center in return for O’Neal, which made it tough to make a deal …read more

LeBron James is partying at the thought of all the NBA players available in 2009
Even with all the big name free agents in 2010, with LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh in the group, the year 2009 could still be the year of the free agent.
Try this out for 2009.
Some of the Restricted Free Agents: Andrew Bynum, Marvin Williams, Jason Maxiell
Some of the players that can opt out of contracts: Kobe Bryant, Carlos Boozer, Rip Hamilton, Hedo Turkoglu
True Free Agents: Shawn Marion, Andre Miller, Rasheed Wallace

LeBron James now has 10,414 points.
Oh, and his team won, too.

Coach Mike Brown pointed out LeBron is only 23.

Dwight Howard has tremendous upside
Normally the All Star game is not a big ticket with your intrepid author.
A game with little or no defense has a hard time holding my interest.
In fact, today’s basketball with all the rule changes towards offense has really bothered me in recent years.
But this year may be an exception. The league is just so filled with exceptional talent.
One starter in particular could become a dominant force in the NBA sooner than we think. That man would be Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic.

Carlos Delfino goes 5 – 5 from 3 point land
You know the other day the Orlando Magic had a great confidence builder against my Detroit Pistons. It can only help them improve as a team.
Now the Toronto Raptors have done the same thing by beating the Boston Celtics.
The Raptors could not miss. They were nailing shots from all over the place.
Coach Doc Rivers of the Celtics was stunned.
