NBA Obsessed

Was Orlando robbed?

June 8, 2009 by James Edwards
Filed under NBA Playoffs, Orlando Magic, Pau Gasol

The Magic had an opportunity to win game two of the series against the Lakers when Courtney Lee took an alley oop pass and attempted to bank it off of the backboard and into the hoop with the scored tied. The replay shows Pau Gasol getting his hand caught in the rim as the ball is hitting the backboard.

Is that goaltending? If so, the Orlando Magic should be headed home tied 1-1, not down 0-2 heading into Tuesday night’s Game 3 of the NBA Finals. source

This is just too freaky, because they just aired the 72 Munich Germany USA basketball loss to Russia, where Russia gets 3 tries and 2 additional seconds to hand the USA their first ever Olympic loss. Doug Collins had seemingly gave the Americans the lead with 1 second left on the clock and that is when the shenanigans began.

What you don’t say is that the USA didn’t go to the medal ceremony, as it happens almost every time they don’t get the gold medal. Or what about tha Beijing final against Spain, where NBA players commited many travelling fouls that weren’t signaled. Or what about the illegal block of Dwight Howard to Pau Gasol in the second game. Referees are humans.

Wow! Guess you would have to see the whole thing. The referees were overruled and made to put 3 seconds on the clock when there was only 1 second left. Actually witnessed this game when it was played. This was done by the chief of the referees (not sure of his title), who was in the stands and not even supposed to be doing anything.

Spain? You gotta be kidding me.

In Pau’s case, either the ref blew it or thought the ball was not going to go in.

So, what about this block at the beginning of the game? Any comments? No problem with that one, is there?

he he only if you think Dwight Howard blocking the ball from inside the cylinder is a legal block. Wouldn’t want to be the referee.
