New Linux User

Always remember personal preference

Linux is all about personal preference. If you do not like one tool you can use another. If you don’t like any of them you can add features to existing tools, all through the power of open source.

That is why there are so many distributions of Linux in existence. If people don’t like an existing distribution they can modify it to there needs or create one from scratch.

But remember about personal preference when speaking to users of the other OS (you know who you are).

If windows works better for them, then let them use it. Do not preach.

If someone has never used Linux then it is OK to convince them to try and test out a live CD when they have a few minutes spare, but if they have made their decision then that is there choice. Let them use it.

In short, do not be a blind zealot.

Imagine how you would feel if a windows zealot tried to convert you? You wouldn’t be a happy bunny.
