Get the Ubuntu Cheatsheet from FOSSWire.
Really important commands especially for newbies. They even included sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg is included in the cheatsheet. Plus keyboard shortcuts to restart X. Hah! I wish I got this cheatsheet much earlier. I learned those commands the hard way — helped me out but now you could see them all on one sheet.
Now you’ve got something to hand to your friends aside from the CD you burned for them. 
And for those of you who downloaded the ISOs and are about to embark on a Linux adventure, you’ve got a handy cheatsheet to remind you of the things you probably heard and read about before.
