Free Ubuntu training course

You could view the information online through this page on the Ubuntu Training Course.

I browsed through some of the pages and they seem to have really basic information. There are screenshots included for tips that involve basic operations like setting up a printer, connecting to shared folders, etc. There are also introductory materials to topics like Security and SUID/SGID, Symbolic Vs. Numeric (when it comes to setting file permissions), and so on.

Ubuntu seems to be the commonly used distro where I am and this might be a good reference for those who would need very basic information. For troubleshooting, I still think it’s best to look online for other blogs that talk about similar issues, and there are also forums and mailing lists for such purposes.

In any case, the material I linked to might be good enough to get one’s feet wet, so to speak.
