Improve your typing skills

I am looking for ways to help me learn how to type in Dvorak and I saw some interesting apps. I hope that you would find them useful. :) Some of the apps I saw help people type faster through exercises and games.

  • Tux Typing – This one has a typing games and Tux! Cuteness meets education. Feeding Tux some fish with letters is one way it could be fun for me. I just hope I won’t get too distracted.
  • DvorakNG – There’s dvorak7min but there’s a graphical version which is DvorakNG. Another advantage is the progress database. Looks nifty. I must try it out.
  • GNU Typist – Want a typing tutor on the command line? GNU Typist looks like a good option.

As with most free and open source applications, there are so many choices. I’d like to point out that in my case, these seem to be the most appealing at the moment. If you have other recommendations, I’d really welcome them. :) Especially if you have an interesting story behind the recommendation. ;)
