Looks like some people really feel strongly about the matter. They say that we should buy elsewhere. Well, that’s true too. We have other options. But it is possible that the way Linux was introduced to the market was not the right way or it wasn’t enough to catch their attention. Maybe this experience should serve as a lesson for Wal-mart as well as other companies who would like to sell Linux machines.

  1. Yeah, I am not a big Wal-mart fan either. They do things the cheapest way they can find to get your money. I don’t know why some folks want Linux to have mass appeal like MS, they don’t expect this out of Macs. It is OK to have a niche market. Linux deserves consideration and commitment from its vendors, it’s not a fad toy. When AOL did the CD in every magazine and mailbox campaign, it got really annoying. Linux in a cheap hardware situation and dumbed down (too user-friendly) version means customer dissatisfaction is certain.
