KompoZer to replace Nvu

June 9, 2007 by admin

Reader Jonas Bark brought to my attention that KompoZer will replace Nvu. After checking out Jonas’ comment and then hitting up the Debian forums, it appears that Nvu hasn’t been updated in a very long time. Consequently, kompoZer was started as a “bug-fix” fork and will hopefully be making its way into the Debian repositories. I was unable to find a .deb version of the application. Anyone out there know where to find a .deb version? Please share in the comments.

KompoZer is a wysiwyg HTML editor (Nvu/Composer fork) aimed towards advanced users. I consider it as an unofficial bug-fix release for Nvu.

    Thanks for the mention!
A .deb file can be found here: http://www.getdeb.net/app.php?name=Kompozer

  1. [...] Last week I introduced Kompozer as an alternative to the now sunset Nvu. I also expressed my difficulty in finding a pre-compiled DEB version of the application. Reader Jonas Bark came through again, and pointed us to a compiled version of Kompozer over at GetDeb. GetDeb is a great resource for finding pre-compiled DEB packages. Thanks, Jonas! [...]
