KToon for your animation needs

Speaking of graphics and tools, I read about a software called KToon. It allows you to make 2D animation and you could export the files in SWF and PNG formats. You’ve got a grid where you could draw on each frame and you even have an ‘onion skin’ mode so that you see the frames before your current frame. It’s as if you really were using onion skin paper and drawing your frames there. It will give you an idea of what your previous frame looks like against the current one so you could use it as basis of your cartoon’s consistency.
Requirements:
- Any Unix Operating System (if it is free, better!)
- QT 4.1.1 or higher
- 256 MB on RAM
- 800Mhz or higher (Processor Speed)
- Disk space: at least 5 MB free
I don’t have much of an iclination for animation but I have friends who do. This might be worth checking out. Unless you have other recommendations, that is

Ktoon is an interesting piece of software. It is still in development stages, and it requires some tweaking after its installed (linking the plugins to the application). It has quite a few options, including making your own brushes etc. I expect great things will come in the future from Toonka (the creators of KToon). But for now, it’s good.
