Parents might be having some difficulties leaving their children alone with their computers or laptops fearing that they will end up going to websites which their parents do not trust. Fortunately for them, Kidzui’s around and now it is available even for Linux users in the form of the Kidzui Firefox web browser extension. It might not be the total package to keeping your kids safe because it’s mainly only helpful for the browser but it’s one step that you could take when it comes to teaching your children about the internet.
You could avail of the free membership offered by the site and your children could view all sorts of fun websites for them. Also, you could view your child’s activity online for 30 days. There will be limitations to free accounts such as the lack of access to the Homework Helper and parents cannot block individual sites. It is only but a tool for parents and if you’re on a tight budget and cannot pay for the paid membership, you still get some help with making the internet kid-friendly.
It seems like an interesting project. Only that I hope that parents would really begin to trust their children online and that their children will learn how to be more responsible too. There’s nothing that will replace good parenting and I hope that those who learned of this service will use it well.
