Timelady gave me a lovely link for all you Asus EEE users out there. It’s a guide on configuring WPA on Xandros.
What does it involve?

Removing the WPA supplicant installed by default.
Installing WPA supplicant from the Debian repositories.
Installing MadWifi drivers.
Creating wpa_supplicant.conf_MINE
Creating a new network configuration.
Making sure that you fix the network monitor icon.

The steps are all there and you just need to follow them one by one.
Hope that helps you with your wifi needs! All thanks to the people of the EEE User wiki and Timelady.

I saw a promo on Laptop Mag that they are giving away an Asus EEE if you answer their survey. The contest applies only to US residents though.
Some questions on the survey are about comparing the OSes on the Asus EEE. Even if you’ve never owned one, it’s ok. There are what-if-you-owned-an-asus-eee type of questions so there’s not much risk for you.
It’s hitting two birds with one stone: get your opinion heard through the survey and join a contest. How can anyone resist that?

Well, it’s been designed for learning and surfing, not really much for entertainment purposes (and it really isn’t so much fun to watch on such a small screen, if you ask me!). I suppose there will be some who’d love to have it work as an entertainment unit as well but that seems like shooting for the stars already. Unless of course, Asus decides to upgrade it and give it a performance boost so that more consumers would be able to find something affordable and practically an all-around gadget.

If you want to try out the tuners, you could download drivers from Asus.

As Richard Ingram says on Palm Addicts:

I am not quite that adventurous. I don’t even have any plans on installing WindowsXP. I am having too much fun exploring the default Linux OS. I am also staying with the default tabbed desktop for the forseeable future. It does everything I need. I have found that adding software to Linux is not really difficult. It’s just a matter of find the right package to install. – 15 Feb 2008

See? It’s really quite easy! You might as well look for testimonials like this one when you’re trying to convince your mom or dad to buy you one

Actually, I realized today that having an Asus EEE around might be a good thing in the future especially when I am going out and still want to use my computer be it for internet access or something like watching a bunch of video clips or taking down notes. It’s also nifty when going to events and I’d like my pictures to be downloaded to the computer immediately or burn discs with such images so that I could share them with other people. (Yeah because chances are, I’d buy a portable DVD drive by the time I actually end up getting an Asus EEE! And well, there’s still the option of sharing it via a USB hard drive or flashdrive but why not discs?!)

The truth is you can get a much more powerful laptop for the same amount of money if you’re willing do deal with a larger notebook. However, no other laptop on the market gives you this much computer in such a small package for such a low price … at least for now.

As I said last year, the Eee PC can’t replace a full-featured desktop or notebook, but it makes the perfect choice if you are in the market for an ultraportable notebook for school, work, or travel. – Asus Eee PC Review Part 2: Budget Subnotebook Perfection

The article also noted some of the improvements in the battery which will be released this February or next month. It might add some weight to the machine but the battery life will be a blessing indeed!
