I saw a promo on Laptop Mag that they are giving away an Asus EEE if you answer their survey. The contest applies only to US residents though.
Some questions on the survey are about comparing the OSes on the Asus EEE. Even if you’ve never owned one, it’s ok. There are what-if-you-owned-an-asus-eee type of questions so there’s not much risk for you.
It’s hitting two birds with one stone: get your opinion heard through the survey and join a contest. How can anyone resist that?

If the default distro doesn’t work out for you and you don’t feel like using the Xubuntu made for the EEE, you have another option: Puppeee. It is based on Puppy Linux, a distro written for ease of use and efficiency. The review on Linux.com has to say this about Puppeee:

Lilliputing has a tip for all you Asus EEE fans and users out there.
If you’re running Xandros, you can check out EeeControl. The latest version of the Ubuntu Script Pack should have you covered if you’ve installed Ubuntu. And for Windows users, there’s Eeectl.
