Ubuntu-UMPC 8.10 is here

I already have Ubuntu Netbook Remix which is based on Ubuntu 8.04 LTS, not Ubuntu 8.10 and now there’s Ubuntu-UMPC 8.10! Like the Ubuntu Netbook Remix, you need to get an image file and write it to a USB disk. You could use the dd tool or the image writer tool, as the instructions here say so.

I’d expect Ubuntu-UMPC 8.10 to have the latest version of GNOME and have the multi-tabs on Nautilus. Also, other driver updates would be there by default. Although if you are looking at having a distro with LTS, it’s better to stick with Ubuntu Netbook Remix.

I learned about Ubuntu-UMPC 8.10 from Free SoftwareMagazine’s article about installing the full distro on the Asus EEEPC. And of course I am now curious about the Huawei 3G USB modem. (Some telcos have 3G USB modems and I think one of them is the Huawei.)
