Windows games on Linux using PlayOnLinux

If you have been dual-booting at home because of the games you play, there might be a better option. It’s PlayOnLinux. PlayOnLinux is basically a script that lets you run games on Wine. Wine on the other hand lets you run Windows apps in general.

As such, you first need to install Wine. Check your distribution’s repository via your package manager. If you’re on Ubuntu, look for it via Synaptic. If you’re on Suse, look for it via YAST.

Then you search for the scripts of the games you want to play. The PlayOnLinux scripts are here as well as the guide to the compatibility of these scripts with Wine. There’s also a column showing what version of Wine it will compatible with.

Some of the games in the list: Ragnarok, Grand Theft Auto, Prince of Persia, World of Warcraft.
