There IS Such A Thing As A Free Lunch

freerice.jpgThe old physicist who coined the energy-related term: “there’s no such thing as a free lunch” obviously hasn’t heard of a fantastic game called Free Rice, where every question gives you the opportunity to help out those less fortunate through a certified, well-known charity.

Sponsored by some big guns in a variety of industries (Toshiba, Macys, and OfficeDepot for example) and acting as the sister site to Poverty.com, the game challenges your vocabulary with a multiple choice selection (oh SATs…what a flashback!) and each right answer donates ten grains of rice to The United Nations World Food Program.

It ain’t hard, it’s helping out, and it’s kind of fun to boot. Actually..it’s a little addictive…I can’t stop playing. Give it a shot and consider devoting ten minutes out of your gaming day, every day, to making the grain count soar.
