Now that I’m actually reading the screenshot, I’m noticing the “coupon code”: 6zzoqed9g and I don’t know if that’s a unique code for each email or if that’s just the $10 off code. If it’s a unique code then I guess whoever uses it first will be happy. Like I said, I won’t be using it.

The “sale” ends on the 19th – next Saturday – and if you’re buying The Sims 3 for a Christmas gift then you better get cracking.

And on a related subject, if you were planning on using the $10 off code to buy The Sims 3 Collector’s Edition from the EA Store, you’re out of luck since they’re sold out – Amazon.com is still selling it.

Some of the best Sims to dress are the kids since they look so darn cute in their Christmas gear.

Included in this clothing download for Sims 2 are velvet dresses with white tights and black Mary Janes for girl toddlers and children and argyle sweater vests with slacks and black shoes for boy toddlers and children. You can find the downloads in Formal and in Everyday so if you want your kid Sims to be Christmas cheery at all times then you can have it.

You get four new meshes with this download but you don’t have to worry about searching around for them since they are included in this download. No expansion packs are required so even base game players can get their Sims in the holiday spirit.

Since I normally feature Sims 3 stuff, please note that this download set is for Sims 2 so don’t go downloading if for Sims 3 and expecting it to work.

I’m a bit ashamed to admit that I had missed Fanseelamb’s extremely cool addition to the Tru Blood downloads and so, of course, I’m featuring it.

How could I not feature this download after I read: “Friends Don’t Let Friends Drink Friends”.

I laughed for like five minutes after I read that.

I mean, it is Thanksgiving. Why shouldn’t your vampire Sims have an interesting libation to enjoy?

Just like in the books and the show, Tru Blood satisfies all of your Vampires’ needs without the need for a dinner guest – if you know what I mean.

Tru Blood can be found in the vamp’s fridge or in vending machines. If you want everything to be all happy and work right, your best bet is to have up to Apartment Life installed.

The Overview doesn’t say how much these cost but I’m going to assume not that much. I would have installed these bad boys but I don’t run Sims 2 any longer so y’all will have to tell me how much these rock.

The only issue with this lot is the fact that it lacks any bathrooms. SO, if you’re planning on using this for something other than a church…basically if you’re planning on using this as anything other than “town dressing”, then you’re going to want to add a bathroom or two.

Or, maybe you can add a Porta Potty. I think that will probably mess up the lot’s look but when a person’s gotta go…

I’m going to add this little part from the Overview since I don’t totally understand it and don’t want you guys to download the lot and then gripe because it’s not what you thought it would be.

Outside your church is a rather ugly excavation. Fear not! In fact, that’s your Emergency Church Repair Kit™! In case you decide to screw around and end up messing up while having the ‘constrainfloorelevation’ cheat enabled, just use those to fix up any wonky parts.

As always, read the Overview because there is some custom content that you need to download and install so your church looks cool and make sure that your Sims have been saving up their simoleons since this lot is going to put you back $313,467.

There’s just something about the glowing band of light where there should be eyes or at least normal darkness that seems wrong…but I guess wrong in a good way since I’m featuring it here today.

These babies go all the way from Teen to Elder and are not only recolourable but are also repatternable which means you can basically make them look anyway you want them to look.

If you’re noticing that the glasses aren’t showing up all glowy in your game then it’s probably your graphics card. If you’re running a lower end card, the glasses will look mirrored – still cool looking just not as cool.

No custom content to worry about. Just download these glowing wraparound glasses for Sims 3 and go.

Meghan Fox is probably the most recent celebrity to invoke Marilyn – with a tattoo on Fox’s forearm of the dead starlet – but Fox is just one in a long, long string of actresses who feel some sort of special connection.

And, you know, it’s not just “famous” people who connect with Marilyn Monroe. Tons of “regular” people still love Monroe and the fact that Audrey created a Marilyn Monroe for Sims 3 shows the draw that Monroe still has on today’s public.

You’re going to have to really read the Overview with this download. I counted 12 different links to custom content that you need to make Marilyn look as phenomenal in your game as she does in the screenshot. The custom Seven Year Itch dress is included so rejoice for that since it’s a really cool dress.

Maybe some more 50s celebreties will be created for Sims 3 soon and then you can do a complete themed story – how cool would that be?

In “celebration” of the movie hitting the big screen tonight, EA has come out with a New Moon spoof that has got to be seen to be believed.

Just like all of their other spoofs, it’s a bit irreverent and funny and since it’s not that long [just over a minute] you can watch it on your way out to see the real thing.

Even the title – Love Triangle Under the Sims Moon: A The Sims 3 Parody – made me laugh.

Just don’t take it too seriously. I’m sure they made it with the utmost respect for the movie and the books.

OK…not really…but it’s still funny.

And…well…I think I’m relieved that I didn’t.

Turns out that people are having issues already with the expansion.

• There’s talk of custom content conflicts.
• Problems with people not being able to register their games.
• AwesomeMod doesn’t work

Apparently people were/are getting “Error Code 16″ errors when they tried to save a game after installing World Adventures.

This comes from the forums and is an “official” response:

Hi everyone,
We have been made aware of an issue you may encounter while trying to save your game after installing The Sims 3 World Adventures or updating your game. The Sims 3 World Adventures and the Game Update have changed the way your save files are created, which can lead to an error during your gameplay when you save your game. If you encounter an error that says “Error Code 16,” please use “Save As” to save your game instead. This will allow you to create a new save file and circumvent this error.

If you are beginning an entirely new game or starting in a new neighborhood, you will NOT encounter this issue.

We are working to address this and will update you as soon as possible.

From reading through the forums, I can’t tell if the issue is World Adventures or if it’s the patch. Most likely it’s a combination of both.

If you bought the game, my advice to you is to make two folders on your Desktop and grab everything from these files:

• Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads
• Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods

and move it all to those Desktop files. Look around and make sure that you’ve removed all custom content including but not limited to default replacements for skins, eyes, hair, etc.

If you haven’t bought the game already, wait.

Sims 3 and the expansion are hella complicated so it’s going to take a little time to iron out all of the wrinkles and kill all of the bugs.

Regardless of your decision, now is a good time to back-up your game no matter which game you’re playing. If you’re still running Sims 2, then you can use this guide to back-up your Sims 2 game. To do a complete back-up of your Sims 3 game, follow this link.
