Product Placement Comes to Sims 3

Product placement in the Sims 3? How do you feel about that? Instead of your Sim just making a Grilled Cheese, now, they might make a Kraft dr-pepperGrilled Cheese. Instead of just eating a cookie, now they might eat a Toll House cookie.

Before, product placement in the Sims 3 was just a rumor and since the game has shipped and been dissected by it’s rabid fans, no product placement has been seen. I personally assumed that maybe the product placement had just been a rumor that had been started to drum up publicity.

But that’s not the case since NeoSeeker announced Thursday that Dr. Pepper is definitely coming to the Sims 3.

The content is opt-in meaning that you have to download it yourself so you don’t have to worry about a can of Dr. Pepper just showing up in your game. So it’s not as bad as it could be and there might even be some hardcore Dr. Pepper fans out there who will welcome some of the carbonated beverage showing up in-game.

Thoughts?
