Gripe About Sims 3 Store

When I first started playing Sims 3, I was a bit dismayed by the sparse content with regards to Buy Mode. However, since you can customize just about anything to your heart’s content, I didn’t complain too much.
I saw the Sims 3 Store as a way to pick and choose what extra stuff you wanted in your game without having to go all out and buy a Stuff pack. Let’s all admit it, Stuff packs got a bit out of hand with Sims 2 – it seemed like every other month a Stuff pack was being released.

EA is pushing hard for people to pre-order and register their copies of the first Sims 3 expansion: World Adventures – set to release Nov. 17th.
If you decide to register your expansion, you’ll be awarded with an extra 1k SimsPoints to be used in The Sims 3 Store on whatever your little heart desires. You’ll also get the Explorer’s Loot Set which contains all kinds of goodies. The Explorer’s Loot set apparently doesn’t come with the expansion – you download it after you’ve bought the expansion.
I’m trying to figure out EA’s big push for game registration and while a part …read more
New World Adventures Screenshots

I’ve said before that I’m not overjoyed by the first expansion for Sims 3 – World Adventures – though I am a bit stoked about the France destination. The way I see it is that there is a lot to explore in Sims 3 and adding more content [on the existing maps] would serve me better than adding whole new maps.
I gripe but the more I think about it, the more I realize that I’ll end up getting World Adventures.
The premise of it is interesting and I can already picture Paris in my head with its bistros and China with …read more

EA’s done it again – made a new MySims game, that is.
MySims Agents, for the Wii and DS, is a mystery solving puzzle game and is the next installment in the popular MySims franchise.
There are a couple of differences between the Wii and DS game.
This is what EA has to say about MySims Agents for the Wii:
“…players take on the role of a special agent hired to foil the sinister plans of Morcubus, lord of the criminal underworld. By recruiting different MySims, each with their own special characteristics, players can build up their very own crime-busting dream team. From tracking …read more
First Sims 3 Expansion: World Adventures

So Snooty Sims posted a thing a while back about an expansion called Destination Adventure. I wrote about contacting my media contact at EA and being told that EA had no plans for an expansion at that time.
Liar, liar pants on fire.
If you head on over to the Sims 3 website, you’ll see a press release announcing World Adventures. Thought EA had no plans for a Sims 3 expansion at this time?
Anyway, you get $10 worth of Sims Points [1,000 points] if you grab the expansion – $10 can actually go a long way. You get to go to China, …read more
The Sims 3:Destination Adventure?

I first heard about a possible expansion for The Sims 3 over at Snooty Sims. They linked to a French site that has the game expansion listed as hitting in November.
If you Google “The Sims 3: Destination Adventure” all you get is a bunch of links talking about that same French site [jeuxvideopc.com] and A LOT of speculation about what the expansion will involve.
I didn’t want to write about the “expansion” until I received official word from my contact at EA and now I have that “official word”. As things go, I cleaned out my sent and deleted emails but …read more
The Fray: You Found Me Machinima

I love this song. LOVE it.
I also love it when people make machinima out of songs I like so how could I NOT like this video. It’s a bit depressing but then again, the song can be a bit depressing depending on how you interpret it.
I like how the director framed the opening shots and really made a complete story in just a couple of minutes. I won’t ruin the ending for you but it is pretty depressing. Still good, but depressing.

If you have a Wii or a DS and you love animals then I’ve got a game [and a lot of pictures] for you.
SimAnimals Africa is the sequel to SimAnimals and gives players the chance to tame wild animals like never before.
On the Wii you can choose to play as an animal and from the release:
Kicking zebras, rock-breaking rhinos and crocodiles that excel at hunting will assist players in keeping the environment happy and unlocking new areas, animals, and special items. New mini-games give players more ways to interact with the animals. The ring toss, drumming, and petting games help …read more
Sims 3 The Scary Truth Parody Video

If you ask most kids [and some adults] what they think about the idea of their parents having sex, most will shudder and some might even gag.
This “fear” seems to be almost universal and Maxis has put an interesting twist on the whole issue. Not only is the opening text funny but the whole video made me chuckle. Also, as time goes on and people get more comfortable with Sims 3, we’re going to see a lot more quality machinima using Sims 3.
Watch this “horror” video and try not to laugh.
IGN Review of Sims 3

Had you guys seen this video before and I’m the only one who missed it?!
I was looking around YouTube last night and found this IGN video review of Sims 3 and decided to share it with you guys. Though nothing ground breaking or profound is said, it’s nice to hear another person talk so nicely about a game that has wormed its way into my cold, cold heart.
Good review that looks at all parts of the game including the online features.
