Now that I’m actually reading the screenshot, I’m noticing the “coupon code”: 6zzoqed9g and I don’t know if that’s a unique code for each email or if that’s just the $10 off code. If it’s a unique code then I guess whoever uses it first will be happy. Like I said, I won’t be using it.

The “sale” ends on the 19th – next Saturday – and if you’re buying The Sims 3 for a Christmas gift then you better get cracking.

And on a related subject, if you were planning on using the $10 off code to buy The Sims 3 Collector’s Edition from the EA Store, you’re out of luck since they’re sold out – Amazon.com is still selling it.

The bed has a 4 Energy rating and a rating of 3 for Stress Relief – not amazing stats but there are mods out there to bump up those numbers if you’re so inclined. The arch is…well…an arch. Do something amazingly dungeony with it or something.

The Tomb Sled Sleeper – which I like better than the Sleek-Sleaper from an aesthetic perspective is another bed that you can get for free. It carries the same stats as the Sleek-Sleeper.

If you’re more concerned about what’s going in your living room, might I direct you to the Not-A-Street Floor Lamp, Desert’s End end table, and Modern HDTV by Webbsta Industries?

Don’t forget that World Adventures hits stores this week. Tons of cool items are sure to be included.

But, I know some of you are still on the fence.

How can Sims 3 be better than Sims 2 – a game you’ve known and loved since 2004?

Well, now EA is giving you an online taste of Sims 3 in the form of SimSocial.

This web based game will give you an idea of what it’s like to create a very basic Sim in Sims 3 and assign character traits and a lifetime wish/goal.

There’s even a Facebook app of SimSocial if you can’t get enough of that kind of thing.

While I don’t know if SimSocial will tip the proverbial scale for someone who is sitting on the Sim 3 fence, the game is definitely a nice way to kill some time while you’re waiting for your popcorn to get done popping.

But, if you have Sims 3 for iPhone, you should cheer-up since EA has released a Vampire Theme Pack exclusively for iPhone and iPod Touch simmers.

Since I don’t have either an iPhone or and iPod Touch [I'll happily take one or both for Christmas. Hint. Hint.] I wasn’t able to go to the iPhone Sims Store to check out the new additions but the Sims 3 website has a full list of the stuff that you can expect.

It wouldn’t make me sad at all if EA released similar things for PC based Sims 3 players.

No word yet if blood sucking is included.

I saw the Sims 3 Store as a way to pick and choose what extra stuff you wanted in your game without having to go all out and buy a Stuff pack. Let’s all admit it, Stuff packs got a bit out of hand with Sims 2 – it seemed like every other month a Stuff pack was being released.

For the most part, the Sims 3 Store has served me well.

I’ve picked up a couple of cute hairstyles and a few shirts and dresses that I thought would look fetching on whatever Sim I was working with at that time.

But one thing really bugs me about the way the store is set up – the search functionality.

While there is a “Sale” tab where you can find items that have been discounted, there is no way to search for exclusively free items. And you know, when I’m short on Sims Points, I don’t want to have to go through each and every category in the hopes of finding a free item; there are a lot of categories!

Would it really be such a pain to add a “Free” tab under the “Sale” tab?

Someone's having a bad day.

EA is pushing hard for people to pre-order and register their copies of the first Sims 3 expansion: World Adventures – set to release Nov. 17th.

If you decide to register your expansion, you’ll be awarded with an extra 1k SimsPoints to be used in The Sims 3 Store on whatever your little heart desires. You’ll also get the Explorer’s Loot Set which contains all kinds of goodies. The Explorer’s Loot set apparently doesn’t come with the expansion – you download it after you’ve bought the expansion.

I’m trying to figure out EA’s big push for game registration and while a part of me thinks that it’s for demographic collection another much bigger part of me is pretty sure that this registration push is to prevent players from letting their neighbors “borrow” their game.

I get all of my Sims games via digital download these days so the idea that I would “lend” my game to someone else really is a mute point but I’m sure it’s a very real concern for EA management.

With these extra goodies, EA is basically giving you an incentive to do the right thing.

So, I can’t help but ask, will you be getting World Adventures? And, have you ever let a friend “borrow” your Sims game?

I gripe but the more I think about it, the more I realize that I’ll end up getting World Adventures.

The premise of it is interesting and I can already picture Paris in my head with its bistros and China with its Great Wall.

Maybe it will rock my socks. I hope it does because if I shell out $40 and the expansion sucks then I’m going to be really, really pissed.

If you plan on getting World Adventures, what are you most looking forward to?

MySims Agents, for the Wii and DS, is a mystery solving puzzle game and is the next installment in the popular MySims franchise.

There are a couple of differences between the Wii and DS game.

This is what EA has to say about MySims Agents for the Wii:

“…players take on the role of a special agent hired to foil the sinister plans of Morcubus, lord of the criminal underworld. By recruiting different MySims, each with their own special characteristics, players can build up their very own crime-busting dream team. From tracking footprints and using forensics to picking locks, hacking into computers, following leads and collecting clues, players must rely on their wits, skills and trusty gadgets to piece together the clues to solve the mystery.”

And this is what they say about the DS version:

“…players are agents assigned by their agency to help the mayor stop a notorious thief from stealing an ancient treasure. By searching for clues, solving intricate puzzles and matching wits with the thief, gamers can protect the treasure and the town! Along the way they can talk to their favourite MySims, sharpen their agent skills with 10 different mini-games…”

Sounds to me like the DS version will be more mini-game intensive which is often the case since mini-games are great ways to take advantage of the DS’s stylus and double viewing windows.

MySims Agents should be available for both systems in late September of this year.

Liar, liar pants on fire.

If you head on over to the Sims 3 website, you’ll see a press release announcing World Adventures. Thought EA had no plans for a Sims 3 expansion at this time?

Anyway, you get $10 worth of Sims Points [1,000 points]  if you grab the expansion – $10 can actually go a long way. You get to go to China, Egypt and France. New building styles will also be introduced from things that your Sims saw on their adventures. You also get to decorate your house with artifacts that you come across while you’re out playing Indiana Jones.

While it sounds cool, I doubt that I’ll be pre-ordering it or rushing out to buy it once it hits in November. I’m still trying to get through the basic game so I’ll sit back and see what you guys think about it.

If you have The Sims 3 for the iPhone or iPod Touch, you can expect it early 2010.

If you Google “The Sims 3: Destination Adventure” all you get is a bunch of links talking about that same French site [jeuxvideopc.com] and A LOT of speculation about what the expansion will involve.

I didn’t want to write about the “expansion” until I received official word from my contact at EA and now I have that “official word”. As things go, I cleaned out my sent and deleted emails but trust me when I say that EA is under no certain terms NOT confirming Destination Adventure. There was no “flirting” around at a possible expansion and I was pretty much shut down.

I really, really wish that I could confirm it for you guys, but I can’t.
