Machinima. Know what it is?

If you’re anything like me, I bet you’ve seen plenty of examples of machinima but you just didn’t know that it was called anything other than a “video game movie”.

Machinima is a portmanteau [blending of two words] of machine cinema and basically means using a video game to make a movie. So, if you want to sound smart and stuff when you’re talking about videos like Strangerhood or a Sims 2 YouTube video then call it a Sims machinima instead of a Sims movie.

The Ultimate Spore Creature Creator Dance Off

Since the Spore Creature Creator has apparently taken the world by storm with more creatures created than exist in the real world, EA has decided to take over YouTube as well with their announcement of a Creature Dance Off.

The steps are simple:

Download the Creature Creator – free!

Create a creature and make him dance – make sure you record it

Upload creature to YouTube and register the video

Pretty cut and dry but you might as well head on over to the YouTube page to read everything for yourself. Also, click here for the “official” rules.

The prize is a trip to the Smithsonian Museum and registration ends on August 1st so hurry up.

The Sims 3 – Official E3 First Look Trailer

I love E3 trailers. They’re supposed to be the best of the best [with honors] and usually they don’t fail. This video is right up there with the Prince of Persia E3 trailer.

I can’t wait for this game to come out. VERY excited.

Kitchen and Bath Interior Design Stuff Pack Sneak Peak

Here’s a video with the text written in Spanish [I think] that shows the items that you get with the Kitchen and Bath Interior Design Stuff Pack. Assuming that the items are correct, this looks like a pretty cool Stuff Pack. I’m just hoping that there are a few more items for the kitchen and bath. It kind of looks like they went heavy on the clothes and not so heavy on the other stuff.Whatever the case, I’m sure I’ll download a copy on the 16th when it’s released for download.
