Sometimes I think we Sims players take ourselves a bit too seriously.
Maybe it’s because we’re not “real” gamers or because we spend our time micromanaging computer generated people, but I for one know that I get my fair share of flack from people when they hear that I write for a Sims blog. My favorite is, “Oh. So you don’t write for a real gaming site?”

When I first started playing Sims 3, I was a bit dismayed by the sparse content with regards to Buy Mode. However, since you can customize just about anything to your heart’s content, I didn’t complain too much.
I saw the Sims 3 Store as a way to pick and choose what extra stuff you wanted in your game without having to go all out and buy a Stuff pack. Let’s all admit it, Stuff packs got a bit out of hand with Sims 2 – it seemed like every other month a Stuff pack was being released.

A couple of weeks ago, I bought a lot in my Sims 3 game that is haunted.
They don’t cause too much trouble…well…just don’t count levitating the fridge…and they come in all of these pretty colors. I didn’t think much of it until I saw this video that shows how the ghosts got their colors.

Starvation: purple
Drowning: blue with water dripping
Fire: Orange with flames
Electrocution: yellow with lightning bolts
Old Age: Grey

Who knew plates could be this funny?
If you read the description of these patternable and recolourable Sims 3 plates, you’ll see what I mean.

I wrote a while back about a hack that you can download that kills the intro on Sims 3.
I really didn’t see much of a point since I still thought that the intro movie was novel and what’s wrong with just hitting the spacebar?
And then I started creating custom content and having to reload my game time after time and you know what? Those intros get down right annoying. REALLY annoying.

DABOOBS is an acronym and just generally fun to say. It stands for Delphy’s Acronym Bending Original Output Barber Shop and you’ll need it if you want to make custom hair meshes for Sims 3.
There are six steps to using DABOOBS:
Step 1: Creator name
Step 2: Mesh name (must be unique!)
Step 3: Age, Gender and Category flags (no hats allowed)
Step 4: Mesh files – hairs have 4 LOD files. You should be using Q-Mesh for making the meshes.
Step 5: Texture files – 11 of them. Photoshop or Gimp required.

Buyable Fish Spawners is so that you can fish some really cool varieties from home.
If you read the comments on this download, you’ll see people saying that you can fish from home even if you “dig” the pond yourself. Personally, I’ve never been able to fish from a pond that I dug on one of my house lots. Maybe I’m not digging it deep enough?
Anyway, what this mod does is it lets you fish for varieties that you might not normally have been able to fish for.

Even with all of the advancements that have come with Sims 3, sometimes they still seem just a bit too…vanilla, maybe?
You can change the hair styles and colors, you can add spiky bracelets but in the end, they still aren’t as “alternative” as some might want them to be and that’s why I’ve found these tattoos for you guys.
