I just realized that I haven’t done a formal introduction and that makes me look like a bit of a looser.

Hi. My name is Amy and that picture above this rambling mess is my family. Well, kind of. The animals and husband are right but my daughter is actually only 15 months old. However, I didn’t feel like dealing with a toddler Sim when I created this lovely family.

I’ve been playing The Sims since the original Sims and have all of the expansions…though I’m really not quite sure what happened to all of them.

Sims 2 was a big step and I can’t believe that I used to love the original Sims so much.

I’m split on what my favorite Sims 2 expansion is.

University is pretty freakin’ cool since it allows you to live [or relive] your college days but I also really like Nightlife because of the cars. And then of course is Pets and Seasons. I really just can’t choose. Though some expansions have been “better” than others, each has added a new layer of play.

I got Bon Voyage yesterday [I know I'm late to the party] and I’m excited to see what new things it has to offer. You’ll notice that the clothes that the family is wearing are from Vacation.

My plans for Sim Gamer are this. I want to increase the downloadable content. I love finding really great custom items and Sims and I also love to share them. Of course, Sims news is a must, but news doesn’t happen everyday with this game. So, I’ll report it as I find it. The Architectural Challenge is kind of up in the air right now. I’m waiting on news about it myself, so you’ll know something when I do.

Each Wednesday, I participate in “Wordless Wednesday”. It’s a great way to bring new people to the site and if you guys have some stuff that you’d like for me to showcase of Wednesdays, drop me an email and I’ll happily oblige.

Another week has passed and the Sims phenomenon might seem to some as some sort of mutant feeding on time. The more is stays in the charts, the more it grows. But will definitely not go away.

The NPD Group released the top 10 best selling PC games in the US for the week ending Sept. 15 and, alas, The Sims 2 Bon Voyage is still on top. Furthermore, those of you hoping to see at least the The Sims 2 Deluxe expansion out of the top 10 are in for an unpleasant surprise: the pack is still in. In fact, it ranks higher this time.

World Of Warcraft hangs tight on its two spots (the second and the fifth positions), while BioshockBioshock takes another step down and allows Medal Of Honor: Airborne to get the bronze medal.

I was at Best Buy today and saw The Sims 2 Limited Edition.  It’s meant for Sims 2 newbies and includes The Sims 2 Deluxe and Bon Voyage.  What a great birthday present idea for someone who you know would love the Sims.

If you ever run out of money in Sims 2 Bon Voyage Expansion Pack there’s a fun new way to supplement your earnings.  You can dig for treasure at home and abroad and then sell what you find.  The other day my sim found this treasure chest that’s worth a cool 5000 simoleans!  What have you found while digging?

A really cool new character you might bump into when on vacation in The Sims 2 Bon Voyage is Big Foot!  If you befriend him you can actually have him come move in with your Sim.  I was really hoping he’d be able to have kids with her, but thus far cross species mating between them hasn’t worked.  Has anyone else been able to do it?

I have mixed feelings about them including sunbathing in The Sims 2 Bon Voyage because my mom had skin cancer.  I’m not sure if they should be promoting tanning, but at least the sims put on lotion sometimes.  Sims Leora did get burnt a bit though.  Check out the pictures of Sim Leora enjoying the sun:

Sims Leora met the Pirate Ghost that comes with The Sims 2 Bon Voyage expansion pack.  Leora thought he was cute so it’s too bad he doesn’t have a phone.  He did teach her his song though.  Check out these pictures of the pirate ship and the ghost:
