Sam Merlotte and his Furrier Version

If you’ve read the Sookie Stackhouse books or have watched the True Blood series on HBO, then you know that Sam Merlotte changes into a collie…actually, he can turn into anything that he wants but that really isn’t the point of this.

This is a download for Sims 2 of Sam Merlotte and his furrier version, “Dean”.

Since you can’t control your pets in Sims 2, Dean is really just there for show but he sure is cute.

Obviously, you’re going to have to have Pets EP for Dean to work and make sure that you read the “Overview” since there are a couple of things that you need to do in order to get Sam Merlotte to work for you in your game.

Also, if you want Dean’s eyes to look like they do in the screenshots on the download’s page then you’re going to have to download them separately but there’s a link for that too on the overview page.

Cat Rubik’s Cube

It is my opinion that there isn’t enough really cool custom content out there for Pets. I can remember counting down the days until that EP was released and would rank it among my top three EPs to own.

Anyway, I found this rather cute and VERY original Pets object for your family’s cats. It works like any other toy that your cat might play with except for one little detail: eventually, after enough time spent playing, the cube gets solved.

How freakin’ cool is that?

Time Traveling Pets!

If you have the Pets expansion pack for Sims 2 then you’ve discovered the really cool fact that your pets can have careers just like any other member of your family. Why should they get to lounge around on the sofa [BAD DOG!] all day while you work your little fingers to the bones to provide?

While the fact that your furry family members can get off of their butts and earn a wage is cool, some of the careers can get a bit stale after a while.

So, I present to you the Time Travelling Career for your pets!

It’s a custom career so it won’t override any of the exhisting base careers and looks to be a lot of fun.

Hope it adds a bit of pizazz to your game.

Animated Carousel

You know that I’m always looking for things that are odd and original. I like to spice up my Sims game and I realize that you feel the same way. That’s why I’m always looking for things to share.

I know a carousel might not be everyone’s cup of tea but you have to admit that it’s original and odd and just a little bit cool.

The only catch is that you have to have either Open for Business, Family Fun Stuff or Pets for this to work.

Cat Scratch Fever

Scratching posts take up floor space and are ugly. Your other option is to not give your family cat a scratching post and watch as she destroys your furniture.

Here’s the purrfect solution.

With this nice little cheat, your cat can now take out her aggression on the trees and not your couch.

For the Birds

One of my favorite pets in Sims Pets is the bird.

Usually I pick the hawk and my Sim talks to it like a crazy bird person.

But, after a while, the fare offered by Maxis gets a bit stale.

That’s why I’m glad I found these.

This pack includes four recoulors that are sure to spice up your birdcage.

Introduction

I just realized that I haven’t done a formal introduction and that makes me look like a bit of a looser.

Hi. My name is Amy and that picture above this rambling mess is my family. Well, kind of. The animals and husband are right but my daughter is actually only 15 months old. However, I didn’t feel like dealing with a toddler Sim when I created this lovely family.

I’ve been playing The Sims since the original Sims and have all of the expansions…though I’m really not quite sure what happened to all of them.

Sims 2 was a big step and I can’t believe that I used to love the original Sims so much.

I’m split on what my favorite Sims 2 expansion is.

University is pretty freakin’ cool since it allows you to live [or relive] your college days but I also really like Nightlife because of the cars. And then of course is Pets and Seasons. I really just can’t choose. Though some expansions have been “better” than others, each has added a new layer of play.

I got Bon Voyage yesterday [I know I'm late to the party] and I’m excited to see what new things it has to offer. You’ll notice that the clothes that the family is wearing are from Vacation.

My plans for Sim Gamer are this. I want to increase the downloadable content. I love finding really great custom items and Sims and I also love to share them. Of course, Sims news is a must, but news doesn’t happen everyday with this game. So, I’ll report it as I find it. The Architectural Challenge is kind of up in the air right now. I’m waiting on news about it myself, so you’ll know something when I do.

Each Wednesday, I participate in “Wordless Wednesday”. It’s a great way to bring new people to the site and if you guys have some stuff that you’d like for me to showcase of Wednesdays, drop me an email and I’ll happily oblige.

That’s about it folks.
