I just realized that I haven’t done a formal introduction and that makes me look like a bit of a looser.

Hi. My name is Amy and that picture above this rambling mess is my family. Well, kind of. The animals and husband are right but my daughter is actually only 15 months old. However, I didn’t feel like dealing with a toddler Sim when I created this lovely family.

I’ve been playing The Sims since the original Sims and have all of the expansions…though I’m really not quite sure what happened to all of them.

Sims 2 was a big step and I can’t believe that I used to love the original Sims so much.

I’m split on what my favorite Sims 2 expansion is.

University is pretty freakin’ cool since it allows you to live [or relive] your college days but I also really like Nightlife because of the cars. And then of course is Pets and Seasons. I really just can’t choose. Though some expansions have been “better” than others, each has added a new layer of play.

I got Bon Voyage yesterday [I know I'm late to the party] and I’m excited to see what new things it has to offer. You’ll notice that the clothes that the family is wearing are from Vacation.

My plans for Sim Gamer are this. I want to increase the downloadable content. I love finding really great custom items and Sims and I also love to share them. Of course, Sims news is a must, but news doesn’t happen everyday with this game. So, I’ll report it as I find it. The Architectural Challenge is kind of up in the air right now. I’m waiting on news about it myself, so you’ll know something when I do.

Each Wednesday, I participate in “Wordless Wednesday”. It’s a great way to bring new people to the site and if you guys have some stuff that you’d like for me to showcase of Wednesdays, drop me an email and I’ll happily oblige.

Buy some fruit trees and spray the crap out of them with bug spray. Or, you can buy a garden plot, plant some seeds and then spray the crap out of it with bug spray.

Whichever you choose, you should eventually end up like this:

Unless of course, you seem to lack the ability to create a garden that contains bugs.

And that was my problem.

Exhibit A:

Here I am planting my happy little garden. I realized that the plethora of lady bug houses was going to be an issue if I wanted plant eating bugs, so I nixed them right after this picture was taken.

Exhibit B:

I’ve gotten rid of the lady bug houses and added some fruit trees.  Hopefully some bugs will find this little greenhouse inviting.

Exhibit C:

You might not be able to read what that little “status box” says, so I’ll tell you.  It says “thriving”.  That means no bugs!  Normally, that would be a great thing.  All of my tomato plants are happy as larks.

But, if you want to make a Plant Sim, you’re kind of SOL.

A challenge for interested readers: make your very own Plant Sim and email ‘em to me.  I’ll gladly post your pictures since I apparently bought the “bug free” version of Sims Seasons.

For busy single Sim parents the invention of leftovers that came with The Sims 2 Seasons is a lifesaver!  Now you can spend your days off cooking up a few tasty meals so during the week your kids won’t have to bug you to cook for them.  We all know things taste better the next day anyway.  So serve your meals and then click he option to put it back in the fridge.  Then when you want it again click the fridge and get your leftovers.  Voila, instant meals!

Here’s a picture of a jar of fireflies from the Sims 2 seasons expansion pack.  I’m not really sure what the point of catching them is.  It would be neat if they could replace lights in your house but I don’t think that’s the case.  What do you do with your fireflies?

The Sims™ 2 Seasons Simlish Contest, an online music competition that unites singing sensation Lily Allen, aspiring singers and video game players from around the world. This groundbreaking contest invites would-be superstars to record their own version of Lily Allen’s hit single, "Smile," at EA’s online music community, SingShot www.singshot.com/SimsLily.

Fans are expected to sing "Smile" in Simlish-the native language used by characters in The Sims™ games. For inspiration, contestants are encouraged to check out Lily’s own Simlish version, which is included in The Sims™ 2 Seasons, the latest addition to the popular video game franchise, The Sims. They also can get feedback on their song from the SingShot community which allows users to share their recordings with friends, rate and comment on other members’ tracks and customize recordings with photos and videos.

Lily Allen will personally choose from among the top three ranked songs to select the 1st and 2nd prize winners. The 1st prize winner will receive a prize package valued at approximately $1390 and the chance to record a song in Simlish for possible inclusion in a future The Sims™ 2 video game.
