In “celebration” of the movie hitting the big screen tonight, EA has come out with a New Moon spoof that has got to be seen to be believed.

Just like all of their other spoofs, it’s a bit irreverent and funny and since it’s not that long [just over a minute] you can watch it on your way out to see the real thing.

Even the title – Love Triangle Under the Sims Moon: A The Sims 3 Parody – made me laugh.

Just don’t take it too seriously. I’m sure they made it with the utmost respect for the movie and the books.

OK…not really…but it’s still funny.

The new “creator” series of videos for World Adventures are cracking me up and this video is a perfect example of the possibilities that World Adventures will present to your Sims – the possibility to meet new people from all over the world and have a world full of Sims really pissed off at your Sim.

Because it was just too damn easy to have that happen in your own neighborhood.

For those of you who like to make your Sim a Don Juan or Lolita and then play the virtual field, consider this video a cautionary tale of what can happen if you let your Sim have too much fun.

When I’m on YouTube, I always search “Sims” or “Sims 3″ to see what new and exciting stuff has popped up. Sometimes it’s good stuff and sometimes it’s utter crap. But, it is YouTube so that’s really the nature of the beast, isn’t it?

Anyway, with World Adventures hitting next week, I’ve been kind of surprised at the lack of World Adventures trailers. But, of course, I found one today and I must say that the “learn foreign tongues” line cracked me up.

The video is short at only 30 seconds but since it is only 30 seconds, it won’t take much out of your day to give it a look. And the mummy servant is pretty awesome.

They don’t cause too much trouble…well…just don’t count levitating the fridge…and they come in all of these pretty colors. I didn’t think much of it until I saw this video that shows how the ghosts got their colors.

• Starvation: purple
• Drowning: blue with water dripping
• Fire: Orange with flames
• Electrocution: yellow with lightning bolts
• Old Age: Grey

Now, instead of looking at my ghost Sims like [sometimes] bothersome trumped up lawn ornaments, I actually feel a little bit bad for the transparent ghosties.

And then, because it came up as a related video, I watched this one entitled “Sims 3: New Ways to Kill Off your Sim Once You Get Bored”. Before you get too upset with the video, IT’S A JOKE. If I see one “that’s not how it really is in the game”, I just might burst into flames and become an orange ghost.

Watch the video and laugh at it because it IS funny if you’re not taking yourself too seriously.

For some reason, the fact that the zombies can curse you adds a new degree of interest. I’m also interested in the fact that there seems to be some directed play in the expansion. While I love the free-form nature of Sims 3, I often find myself not playing the game but creating houses or Sims or something else that has nothing to do with any story and then I burn myself out.

With a bit of structure, I have a goal and don’t get bored.

Maybe I’m reading too much into the video, but it gave me a bit of hope for the expansion and I’m actually looking forward to the release.

What are your thoughts on the expansion? Will you be getting it the second it hits the shelves?

First off, what graphics card is Fresh-Prince using? How freakin’ awesome does this screenshot look?!

This car is going to set your Sims back $58,000 but is completely worth it when you look at house wonderful this car is.

I’ve downloaded this Lexus but haven’t had a chance to play it in-game yet so my next two statements are assumptions.

Since it’s not stated that the headlights don’t work, then I’m going to assume that they work in this car. Also, I assume that the car is recoulorable but like I said, I haven’t played it yet so I don’t know. There is always the possibility that you can only get it in red and black but it’s still a damn hot car.

You can pre-order the expansion right now from the Sims 3 website and when you get the expansion, you’ll also get $10 worth of SimsPoints that you can use to buy cool things from The Sims 3 Store.

In addition to the free SimsPoints, you’ll also get to learn new skills that are only available with the expansion and you’ll be able to customize your Sims’ homes with stuff that you find on your adventures.

Basically the first half of the video is Julie Turner talking shop about how many copies the Sims franchise has sold and how many Sims 3 has sold {3.7 million} and toward the end of the video, you finally get some info on World Adventures.

All in all, it’s a good video to watch if you’re interested in The Sims and since you’re here, I assume that you are.

SO, I see no harm in sitting back to see what everyone thinks about the expansion. Heck, I haven’t even managed to successfully play a character through an entire life cycle yet.

Oh, yes. You read that correctly.

I think that I should be congratulated for FINALLY getting my ass out of CAS and putting my Sim on a lot. I’ve got the Sims that I want to play and have created a house that I would actually live in [by the beach] and now, all I have to do is meet someone, make him marry me, have five kids and see them grow up to at least their teenage years so that I can live happily ever after. And now, EA tosses a wrench in my plans with World Adventures.

How the heck is my Sims supposed to meet someone and get married and have mucho babies when she’s trekking through Egypt, France and China?!

Anyway, here’s the trailer World Adventures. Pixie Lott, Nelly Furtado, Stefanie Heinzmann, Matt & Kim, and Young Punx will all lend their voices to the expansion.

All of these downloads came from Lostaccount on Mod the Sims.

1. Faster potty training – comes in two speeds: 4x and 10x with 10x meaning that your toddler will master potty training on the first try
2. Faster walking – this one comes in two speeds as well: 4x and 10x with 10x meaning that your toddler masters walking super fast
3. Faster talking – again, two speeds: 4x and 10x…you get the idea

I downloaded all of these to my desktop and then installed them using the Helper Monkey and then I fired up the game.

What I got was…well…really quick learning in these three areas in my toddler. YAY! Because, seriously? Do you REALLY want to spend the better part of an hour [or more] teaching your toddler how to walk, talk and pee pee on the potty?

If you do, don’t tell me about it because it drives me batty.

I also love it when people make machinima out of songs I like so how could I NOT like this video. It’s a bit depressing but then again, the song can be a bit depressing depending on how you interpret it.

I like how the director framed the opening shots and really made a complete story in just a couple of minutes. I won’t ruin the ending for you but it is pretty depressing. Still good, but depressing.
